Today, I got pulled over for speeding and got a $200 ticket. After I pulled away, I decided to warn the next car about the cop up ahead by flashing my headlights. The next car was another cop. He didn't appreciate my "help". FML

Today, the car in front of me was going slow and I flashed my lights and honked. I floored it and passed the car, flipping off the driver. Just as I went around the next corner, I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop. A few seconds later, the guy I flipped off drove by honked and waved. FML
Today, I was tailgated by a car with his high beams on for an hour. Any time I changed my speed or lane, he would do the same. I finally managed to get away from him because a cop pulled me over and gave me a speeding ticket. FML
Today, I got pulled over for a busted tail light. The officer gave me a warning and told me to fix it. Ten minutes later I was pulled over again for the same busted tail light by the same cop. This time he wrote me a ticket. FML
Today, I received a ticket for not having my headlights on. The cop who pulled me over had a broken headlight. FML
Today, a policeman pulled me over and proceeded to flirt with me. After I had rejected him, he gave me a ticket for "not paying attention to the road". FML
Today, I was on the way to traffic court for a $340 speeding ticket I'd got. My mother called me and I wasn't paying attention which caused me to speed. Right past a cop. When I told the cop where I was going, he started laughing at me. I now have another $300 ticket. FML
Today, I was driving home from work when I saw a cop come up behind me. Nervous about my expired license, I kept checking in my rear view mirror. In turn since I wasn't paying attention, I ran a stop sign. Needless to say the cop pulled me over and gave me 2 tickets. FML
Today, while driving I saw a police car riding along next to me. Thinking about the news recently, I decided to give him a quick thumbs up and a smile to lighten up his day. He looks back, smiles, flips on his siren, and pulls me over for not paying attention to the road. FML
Today, I got pulled over for speeding. Knowing how much more it would cost in the long run, I handed the officer my license with $300 in cash, "as something to consider for just a warning." He came back with a ticket and verbally warned me that police bribery is a felony. He kept the money. FML
Today, I was driving when I noticed that the guy in front was on the phone. I pulled up next to him, pulled out my phone and I made a gesture that he needed to put his phone away. It was a cop. I got a ticket for driving while on my cell phone. FML

Wow there sure are a lot of people on their high horse here. Get over it, s/he was trying to help out another driver. Lots do it, and most appreciate it. I love how people here act as if they are the epitome of perfection and can do no wrong. "omg u flashed ur brites. ur a bad persun. ttly ydi!!!1" Get over yourselves. Why do people always feel the need to bash on OPs? They're sharing their misfortune to brighten our days.

Yeah, I remember semi drivers used to do this. It was great, cuz I am not a fan of distance driving. I end up driving 90 - 100 in a 70 because I'm that impatient. They made it illegal to warn other drivers. At least in my area.

aha cause that's not going to end badly. maybe while speeding you should have flipped him off drank some beer and thrown your trash at his car. but if course after we sped off he wouldn't do anything...

It is technically against the law, but very very easy to beat! Especially with the high beams as opposed to just turning your lights on and off! Tell the judge you hit a bump in the road and your shocks are going bad! Looks almost exactly the same and the cop won't be able to say otherwise!

Actually it is illegal in many states, it's called obstruction of justice. YDI.

While police insist it is obstruction of justice, this went to quite a few state Supreme Courts before, and they all ruled otherwise. Legally, this charge will not stand in court, but you may get a ticket for it anyway

Right #3, you know where the OP lives, so you can comment on the legality of such an action. Either way, it's a dumbass move. Anyone who has been driving for longer than a month knows what a stupid, stupid move it is to flash your lights to warn others of an approaching cop car. The OP is lucky his/her car didn't get torn apart in a search and they weren't inconvenienced for hours on end because of a power tripping cop with a bug up his ass.
