Today, I got my long hair cut in a short pixie cut. When my five year old daughter saw me she laughed and proclaimed 'You look just like a man!'. That afternoon I got a concerned call from the school. My daughter has told everyone 'mummy has gone away, I now have two daddies!' FML

Today, I took my daughter to get the expensive pixie cut she’s been "dying" for. As soon as we got home, my husband burst into hysterical laughter and pointed out that she looks exactly like he did in high school. Now she’s sobbing and begging for either a wig or even more expensive extensions. FML
Today, I video-chatted with my mom and showed her my new, very short haircut. My dad walked in, took one look at me and said, "I can only attribute this to penis envy," and walked out again. FML
Today, I arrived home, having just had my long hair cut and my beard shaved. My idiot daughter’s reaction when she saw me? “Who are you and how did you get in the house?” FML
Today, I got my hair cut short, as it hasn’t been cut in well over a year and I was getting sick of dealing with it. I told the hairdresser I would probably look like a boy but she said it would look cute, and that she’d make sure it looks feminine. I loved how it came out, until the kid at CVS asked, “Can I help you sir?” FML
Today, I went to pick up my daughter from my dad's house. He'd shaved her head bald. "For a laugh." FML
Today, I went to the hair salon. When I got home, my three-year-old daughter told me I looked like Dora the Explorer. FML
Today, I decided to go get my hair cut because it was getting a bit long. I told the lady that I wanted it way short and she replied "Why? You will look like a guy sweetie." I am a guy. FML
Today, after growing my hair out for over a year and constantly being told that it makes me look like a girl, I finally cut it. The first thing my friends said when they saw me was that I now look like a "lesbian." FML
Today, I shaved my face after several months of growth. This would be OK if my 4-year-old daughter would still talk to me. Apparently she doesn't recognise me, and I'm scary. FML
Today, one of my dad's work friends came over. As he was leaving, he complimented my dad on having three "strapping young boys." I informed him that I'm a girl, and I have a hormone imbalance that causes me to have a lot of hair and a deep voice. I guess my dress didn't give him a clue. FML

For everyone who thinks the school sucks for calling: Any dramatic change in a student's home life WILL affect how that student is in school (grades, behavior, etc.) If anything major is changing at home, the school needs to know, especially if it's a young student.

i agree with whoever said it was catholic school if i was a teacher i would assume that the child's parents got divorced because her father was gay, tell her to tell her daddy congratulations on his new husband, and that's that!

Specifically, had she rly had 2 daddies, that's a load of horseshit that they call in for that...She's not being abused or neglected, just has two parents of the same gender. My god..

i dont think it had nething to do with the school's view on a family or nething like that. i think that they just thought to inform her that her child was running around telling ery1 their private business which cud have lead to sum rumors being spread around at pta meetings lol

What #9 said -- gender is a very complicated cultural concept that doesn't solidify until a kid is about 8. Until then, most kids define gender based on secondary sex characteristics -- i.e., hair. Kids also believe gender to be changed as easily as getting a hair cut. The amusing part is the daughter telling everyone at school, especially a religious school. Ahahahah I can just imagine the teacher's face...
