Today, I got into my car and realised that my CDs were no longer in my glove box. According to the police, the random key code for my car type has been cracked, and thieves can now let themselves in whenever they want. The manufacturer says they can't do anything about it. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got a new CD player for my car and an alarm installed for added security. After work, I saw my windows smashed, the CD player gone, the alarm wires cut, and a note that said, "Try again." FML
Today, I learned that my car alarm only goes off if the car is unlocked a bit forcibly. Doesn't make a sound when some prick breaks the window out in the middle of the night to steal my cd player. FML
Today, my car was broken into. They broke the passenger side window and took my radio system. But they didn't take the remote for it. FML
Mass effect
Today, my auto-repairman told me my heavy mass of keys was bad for the ignition switch and suggested I separate my house and car keys. I began to carry my car keys and lock the house keys in my glovebox. My car was stolen. I now have car keys but no car and a house with no house key. FML
Oddly specific thief
Today, my car was broken into. What was stolen? My steering wheel. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. I had a spare key in my wallet, that I also left in the car. FML
Today my car was broken into. The only thing taken were condoms and lighters I had in the glove box. FML
Stranded
Today, I locked my keys in my car. After looking for the spare key for hours, we called our insurance company, who then sent a "locksmith" with a wedge and a bar to open my car. All he did was break the driver and passenger doorhandles. My stuff is still inside. FML
Today, the little bell in my car that lets you know your keys are still in your ignition went out. How did I find out? I locked myself out of both my house and my car. FML
Today, my keys disappeared out of my car door during the 50 foot walk to the trash can. When I finally went to security after trying to find them, they said someone drove off with my car right as I walked in the door. FML

The manufacturer is lying. if they're too lazy to change it then they should disable it which they can also do. Is this a Ford product? If for whatever reason I am wrong, you have a major class-action lawsuit on your hands. Talk to the manager of the car dealership and tell them these things. I guarantee you they will play ball. Under absolutely no circumstances should you have to pay even a dime.

So tell the car company to take out the key code or the device the thieves are using to get in and manually use a key to open and close the car door problem solved genius.

I'm with # 86 !! The Automaker, Dealership has a responsibility to inform you of such things and I would think, fix it at no cost! here's a site if your in the US http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ You shouldn't have to live with that SECURITY ISSUE File the proper paperwork, at a minimum it'll make you put everything in order and might make you feel better. You never know how many others have done so already! Goodluck Sent via iPhone 4

Security systems aren't fool-proof. They can inform all they want, and you can file the paperwork. It won't matter.

place a large rat trap in the glove box, then wait for a thief to crack the lock. then laugh.

actually, you can do something about it. the key remote and the car's computer share a 40-bit algorithm that generates a new code everytime the button on the remote is pushed. I case the button is pushed when seperate from the car, the car predicts and will accept the next 256 possibilities from the algorithm. so if you sit with your car and and use your remote to lock/unlock your car more than 256 times, then the thieves' key should no longer work. I would recomend doing so at least 300 times to be sure. you can look this info up. google "remote keyless entry"
