Today, I got an email from the local D and D meet up group that the next meeting will be on Feb. 14th. I don't know what is more sad: that the group is meeting on Valentine's Day, or that I have nothing better to do but go. FML

Today, my boss asked me if I could work on Valentine's Day because there was no chance of me having a date. She's right. FML
Today, I had a blind date with someone who asked me for an evening out back on Valentine's Day. I was happy to have a date related to a special day. The catch: my date is a woman I know from work who has a crush on me. Should I feel good I agreed to time with another woman, or bad that it's my only date in 3 years? FML
Today, I keep trying to use the Meetup app to meet people, but life keeps trolling me, and every event I even attempt to join (all virtual so far) has been met with no social interaction. It feels like life keeps hammering in the idea that I should just sit in my room and atrophy away. FML
Today, I'm so hopelessly lonely that I've agreed to meet up with my ex for some semblance of friendship. FML
Today, I realized the reason I was asked to babysit 3 weeks ago for Feb 14 was because the old married couple with kids safely assumed that I wouldn't have a Valentine. FML
Today, I posted an event to have a get together with friends. Most of them put "not attending". I hadn't even set the date. FML
Today, I got a mass text message from a friend saying she's sorry she can't meet up with our group of friends for drinks because she's busy tonight. This is the first I've heard of any bar-crawling. FML
Today, It's Valentine's Day. I'm single and in college, where everyone is posting their S.O.s and going on dates. I'm intensely introverted and shy, and I have a crush but I'm way too scared to ever tell him, and I'm going to spend my evening alone studying organic chemistry. Honestly, I just feel nerdy and lonely. FML
Today, I learned I don't have to spend Valentine's Day alone. My parents invited me along on their date. FML
Today, a cute girl asked if my dog was available for a date on Valentine's Day. Thinking I was in luck, I asked if I should come along. She said no. My dog has better game than I do. FML

I have and have had a girlfriend for a long time. Valentines Day IS overrated. It's a commercial holiday that people use as an apology for not being romantic any other day.

Just thought I'd point something out... D&D is a social game that involves playing with other people- yes OTHER REAL PEOPLE- unlike computer games which do not. Not that I'm hating on computer games... It's just that your premise is flawed.

i play dnd..i was a captain of the varsity wrestling team in high school, i have always had a hot girlfriend (and not just hot by my standards..i always dated girls from the dance team), i was an army stud, and im quite popular. you dont have to be a nerd to play a badass game..you have to be a badass! so keep it up!

Aw = *hug* Don't feel bad. I stayed home and worked on my airsoft guns all day on v-day. I was a little saddened by the fact that getting hit in the eye by a spring guide failed to change the fact that it was the best valentine's I've ever experienced.

Right on my fellow nerd! Now my level of nerdosity isn't high enough for me to play D&D, but nevertheless there is nothing wrong with what you're doing. I actually got drunk alone and watched some movies and a bunch of Seinfeld episodes on v-day.

At least you're lucky enough to have a D&D group who'll all be in the same place on V day. I've been cut down to four a year because people just go to LANs these days. PC games are killing D&D where I am.
