Today, I got a stern talking-to from the police about threatening and harassing people. Who had called them? None other than my stalker, whom I'd just informed about the restraining order I was filing against him after finding him in my house. For the second time. FML

Today, I found out the person who's been stalking and harassing me online was actually my now ex-boyfriend. He only confessed as I finally picked up the phone to report it to the police. He basically said he wanted me to turn to him for comfort and protection, so he could "feel like a man". FML
Today, I had to call the police to get my crazy stalker of a neighbor out of my house. When the police arrived, I found out that she was friends with the officer. FML
Today, my stalker from 16 years ago has apparently come back. Hello, police protection. FML
Today, I found out I have a restraining order against me from my ex boyfriend. Apparently, I drive by his house too much and it is considered stalking. He forgot that I live 2 houses down, and MUST drive by his house to get home. FML
Today, I learned that my stalker is still trying to weasel their way into my life even after they doxxed me, cyberstalked me, harassed me, threatened me, and attempted blackmail on me. All this just because I told them that their boyfriend groomed me when I was a minor. FML
Today, I had to serve my boyfriend's father with a restraining order. FML
Today, my stalker - an annoying guy who's dedicated the past three years of his life to stalking me at every turn - somehow got a hold of my number and started texting me at 10pm about how I have no life. FML
Today, the police showed up at my door asking if I told this creepy guy stalking my girlfriend that I'll chop him up and bury each piece in a different country if he doesn't stop bothering my girl. I told them I did, along with an explanation. Turns out, he's been missing since that day. FML
Today, I called the cops on this guy who kept emailing me without revealing who he was. I had told him that if he emailed me again, I would call the cops, so I did. Turns out it was my roommate. FML
Today, I had to have a talk with my stalker. After telling him not to Snapchat me, not to text me, and that I'm not interested, all he said was, "I think persistence is going to be key here." FML

Make an appointment to speak with the head of that precinct, take in all the evidence you have on your stalker being your stalker, and show it to them. Ask if it is common for their officers to take the word of someone with a pattern of law breaking and obsessive behavior over that of their victim. In the future- though I would hope there isn't a third time- if someone breaks into your house, DO NOT ENTER IT. If you see signs that a break in has occurred, call the police, have them come out, and wait in the yard in your car, with the doors locked and windows rolled up. Wait until the police clear the house. Entering a house that has been broken into puts you at risk of the burglar still being there and being directly attacked by them.

Wait, you have to contact the person you are filling the restraining order against? In the US, at least in Florida, the person is "served". In cases like this, and in domestic violence cases, law enforcement will serve the papers for you. See if anything is available by calling local non-emergency.

Never tell your stalker about restraining orders. Don't contact them in any way, shape, or form. They need to be properly served notice of the orders, and you contacting them will void your restraining order in many cases. If your stalker shows up at your house, call police and tell them you have a pending restraining order. The less you interact with them, the better.
