Today, I Googled my father, who I haven't seen in 3 years. The first website link was his obituary. When I confronted my mom about it, she said, "Oh, didn't I tell you?" and walked off. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Tight knit family
Today, I went to visit my parents after 4 years of not seeing them. They'd moved without telling me. FML
Today, I found my dad on a dating website looking for younger girls. My mother and father are "happily" married, well according to her Facebook profile. FML
Are you kidding me?
Today, my mom talked me into going to a funeral since my dad wouldn't go. It was for one of her classmates. When it was our time to view the casket, we paused in front of it for a second before my mom leans over to me and says, "What if I told you that was really your dad?" FML
Plans
Today, I looked at my father's Facebook for the first time in a month to see a status saying, "Making wedding plans!" Really? When was he planning on telling his own daughter? FML
Today, I went through my 15 year old daughter's internet history. On google she searched 'Excuses to get away from your dad' and 5 other variations of the same thing. We were supposed to be having a father daughter day tomorrow. FML
Today, I found an obituary clipping on my kitchen table. It was for my grandpa. No one told me he died. FML
Today, I found out my parents have a list of everything I have ever Googled. FML
Today, I Googled myself. I found my mugshot and a blog my mom had written about how much of a problem child I am. FML
Today, I found out that my mom and dad got a divorce. They didn't tell me, they just changed their relationship status on Facebook. FML
Today, I saw my dad for the first time in almost five years, at his funeral. FML

Sorry OP for your loss. No one on here actually knows the situation the Dad could have moved away and plenty of families don't talk after fights but whatever the situation, OP still deserves to know if their father has died.

It's a special notice that is put up after someone has passed away. Can be done online, in a paper or wherever else someone might see it. An example would be: John William Doe, 1 January 1900-10th September 1976 'Beloved father, husband, brother, son and friend. John worked at Awesome Company for many years, before retiring and working on a farm to raise chickens. John will be remembered by this person, that person, such and such, etc. Funeral to be held at The Church, 1200hrs, with a burial at The Cemetery one hour later." Something like that :)

What kind of parent keeps that from their child?

I accidentally hit "You Deserved It." There is nothing you did to deserve that... That's horrible. Sorry about that.
