Today, I found out the high school I have been doing at home for the past 3 years isn't accredited and doesn't count for anything. I'm 18 and starting high school as a freshman next year. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
The truth will out
Today, I've lied about my grades for three years of high school already and my mom thinks I'm a straight A student. I'm supposed to be going to college in a year. FML
Today, I learned that the college I'm going to in the fall has been tampering with their ratings on the internet and actually only has a 5% graduation rate. Everything's already been paid for and I can't transfer elsewhere. FML
Today, I found out that my parents lied to me about my GPA so they could go back on our agreement of "3.0 or above or summer school" and had no intention of honoring the agreement anyway. I've been in summer school doing catch-up for kicks. FML
Fertile
Today, I started my senior year of high school and I just learned I'm pregnant. I'm not sure how to tell my parents, considering I had a baby freshman, sophomore, and junior year as well. FML
Jumping the gun
Today, I got my report card, and thought I did pretty well with a GPA of 3.58. My parents freaked out over the 3 B's I had, and proceeded to look up which colleges would still accept me. I just finished my first quarter as a freshman in high school. FML
I blame the parents
Today, after being kicked out of our school for leaving the country, neither of my guardians want to take charge of our education. So me, being sixteen, I have to do hundreds of assignments for my sister and me, who was already supposed to have graduated. Yay "Home schooling." FML
Today, I finally finished my summer assignments for three AP classes. My schedule also arrived. Turns out my school can't place me in any of them, and I just wasted the last four weeks of my summer. FML
Today, despite being in high school, I'm still shorter than the average 3rd grader. FML
Mr Motivator
Today, I found that my medical school has lost its WFME (World Federation for Medical Education) accreditation and my certificate (that I should be obtaining in two years) will be worthless. To pour salt into the wound, I have finals next week and it's hard to stay motivated after this kind of news. FML
Today, I went to my little brother's high school to speak to his counselor about his grades. On my way to the office, the office manager threatened to write me up for ditching class and told me that high school is not like middle school, 9th grade will be different. I graduated 5 years ago. FML

Some high schools don't allow students over 21. Good luck with that, and I mean it sincerely, cause that sucks.

You should ahve investigated it earlier tbh... I mean, how can you not know it? Were there more people in that school anyway?

YDI. I mean, seriously? It's really easy to see if an online school or class is accredited.

I'm so sorry, but this should have been thoroughly researched before you started.

I also do a homeschool program in Florida... Idk what one you're talking about but if it is FLVS or a derivative of it, then it is accredited and they do give out high school diplomas starting this year.

Well an education for you is worthless anyways i mean what do you need to learn about cooking/cleaning/sucking dick that you cant learn on the internet? I say drop out find a man and do the job that society has assigned you

Who cares if it's accredited? Just move on with your life. If you get asked on some application in the future if you have a GED, just say you were homeschooled. Problem solved. Considering 15% of people in America are or were homeschooled it's not exactly a big deal. To be honest, it would be redoing those 3 years of high school that I think would be a *big* mistake.

Who needs an "excuse" to be homeschooled? I think the only "excuse" would be that learning is important to you and you don't want school to get in the way of your education.

well, at least high school will be easy because you've already learned everything... my suggestion is to take summer classes so you can graduate in only three years.

I was home schooled and due to moving around a lot didn't really keep up with the State as far as testing and all that stuff i.e. under the radar. When i was 17 I started Community College w/o a social security # (I later got one). I am now a third year medical student in a school which has just gotten its re-accreditation. Don't waste your time with going back to high school. Get a GED and do community college and actually get credits that will apply to your eventual college degree. However, if you want to have that high school experience Go for it. Best of luck to you.
