Today, I found out I'm allergic to bug repellent. So instead of having a couple of itchy bug bites, my skin feels like it's on fire and is violently itchy everywhere the repellent has touched. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that I am allergic to one of the preservatives that they put in aloe. I found this out after I put some on a severe sunburn I have. Not only am I sunburned, but now I am severely itchy as well. FML
Itchy and Scratchy
Today, I was getting ready for a very unpleasant doctor's appointment. I got out of the shower and used a new body spray all over my torso and arms. Turns out I'm allergic to it and now my skin is on fire, so now I get to go to an already uncomfortable appointment even more uncomfortable than I'd planned. FML
Today, I had an allergic reaction to my deodorant. My armpits wouldn't stop itching, and by the time my shift was over, they were raw and bloody. FML
Today, I found out I'm allergic to mosquito repellent. I fly out on a two month trip to India on Saturday. FML
Bugging out
Today, I'm allergic to not only bug spray, but also mosquitos. I'm staying at a bug-infested lake for 5 days. FML
Today, I went to the store and bought some cream to help with a sunburn I'd gotten a few days ago. What's worse than having red, peeling, and painful skin? An allergic reaction on top of it. FML
Rip it up and start again
Today, I found out I'm allergic to the pills my doctor prescribed for coughing, which I really need because I ripped a muscle in my stomach. Now my whole upper body is covered in a terrible itchy rash. I also found out it will last for at least another week. FML
Today, I decided to lay out and tan. I fell asleep and got sun burned and bitten numerous times by mosquitoes. If I scratch my itch, the burn hurts terribly. If I don't scratch it, it itches terribly. FML
Today, I got the worst sunburn I've ever had in my life, and then discovered I'm allergic to aloe when I went to treat the burn with some gel. FML
Nice spread
Today, I got a new skin cream for my acne. I tested it on a small patch of skin just to make sure I wasn't allergic. I was, and the reaction didn't stay on that small patch of skin. My left arm is now almost entirely covered in a horrible rash. FML

His skin feels like it's on fire. How is that the bright side? I'd rather be itchy from bug bites

If you keep scratching, your skin is going to turn a delicious maple red color, resembling bacon. More bugs will come.

I used to be allergic to bug repellent too :( luckily I grew out of it, sorry you have to go through it...possibly try those clip-on repellents so you can just pin it to your clothes?

Lots of benadryl OP!
Brandi_Faith 34
Agreed^ Benadryl should help calm that reaction right down and make you feel better pretty fast. Warning though, Benadryl can make a lot of people drowsy and knock them out for awhile, but in your case that's probably a plus. I think I would always keep Benadryl on hand too because if you're allergic to one thing chances are you're allergic to other things. You may always want to test things in a small area first if you're prone to allergies. Good luck OP.

I'm sorry but I don't see any obvious statements in this fml that warrant a "well DUH" comment.

Avon's skin so soft body wash doubles as bug repellent, maybe give that a shot when you're feelin brave?

Try taking a cool bath, it will soothe that itching if Benadryl doesn't work right away! Avoid warm or hot showers until the reaction has calmed down considerably as heat can make your itching start up again or make it even worse than it is now!

You're probably allergic to DEET. They make DEET free insect repellent for people with your condition. For future reference.
