Today, I got the worst sunburn I've ever had in my life, and then discovered I'm allergic to aloe when I went to treat the burn with some gel. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that I am allergic to one of the preservatives that they put in aloe. I found this out after I put some on a severe sunburn I have. Not only am I sunburned, but now I am severely itchy as well. FML
Today, I went to the store and bought some cream to help with a sunburn I'd gotten a few days ago. What's worse than having red, peeling, and painful skin? An allergic reaction on top of it. FML
Today, I went to the beach. After applying sunscreen liberally and doing my best to stay out of the sun, I came home with the worst sunburn I have ever had. I almost needed to go to the hospital. I am officially too pale to be allowed outside in summer. FML
You're not supposed to eat it
Today, I used sunscreen on my face. Said sunscreen was expired and I had an allergic reaction. FML
Today, because I have a beach party tomorrow, I used a new gel that is supposed to prevent razor burn after shaving the bikini line. Turns out I'm highly allergic to the gel. Now I have hundreds of beautiful red bumps that look like razor burn. FML
Itchy and Scratchy
Today, I was getting ready for a very unpleasant doctor's appointment. I got out of the shower and used a new body spray all over my torso and arms. Turns out I'm allergic to it and now my skin is on fire, so now I get to go to an already uncomfortable appointment even more uncomfortable than I'd planned. FML
Roommates from hell, part 4874
Today, I got a second degree sunburn everywhere above my waist, for which I've been using a medicated lotion. My roommate "pranked" me by switching the lotion with a similarly colored, very caustic acne wash. My chest feels like it's roasting in hell and is oozing pus and oil now. FML
Today, I found out I'm allergic to bug repellent. So instead of having a couple of itchy bug bites, my skin feels like it's on fire and is violently itchy everywhere the repellent has touched. FML
Time to go topless I guess...
Today, I accidentally gave myself a chemical burn. It hurts like hell and I've been told all I can do is wait it out for a few days. The worst part? It's from a reaction to a cream I used all over my chest. I can't wear a shirt without being in immense pain. FML
Today, I got a sunburn all over my stomach from a tanning bed. In an attempt to relieve the itching, I looked up natural treatments since we have no aloe. After trying yogurt, milk and mayo I found out that our water was shut off so the shower could be fixed. I now reek of mayo and milk. FML

apply vinegar to it with some paper towels they day you get it. You will still be red some but it wont sting at all the next day. This is serious by the way and works.

98, there is a compound in natural Aloe that a small percentage of the population is allergic to. One of the skin care lines I use at work isolated and removed that compound in their aloe gel so it is hypo allergenic and can be used by people allergic to aloe.

You can use vinegar. White vinegar is best. apply to sunburns several times a day, I know it sounds weird but it really works, and the smell goes away after a few minutes. Source: old lifeguard trick

vinegar works on jellyfish stings too. source: experience haha
Pinkanani 12
I know right? Well OP, scramble raw eggs (or egg whites — assuming you're not allergic to those too), and spread it over your sunburn; instant relief. By the next day, you should be alright.

also hornet and wasp stings! I tested that the other day after being attacked by a swarm of hornets, followed the next day by several wasps. turns out vibrations from nearby construction really sets them off.

There are plenty of other things you can put on sunburn besides aloe. Sucks though.. aloe feels the best.

be prepared to change your sheets alot. ... that's gonna be alot of dead skin.
wolflover44 5
That is disgusting... True, but disgusting. Thanks for the mental image... Now I have to debate where I'm going to sleep tonight. I just imagined my skin falling off and piling up. I wash my sheets once a week... Thanks... O.O
simonisnotacat 4
quit your whining. as long as you didn't get a sunburn any time in the past week, you've got nothing to worry about. and it really wasn't that disgusting. thanks... O.O

KoolKids87 2
Beach? Hopefully you had a good time to make up for the bad(:
masqu123 5
the beach isn't the only place with sun
KoolKids87 2
But most people get sunburnt at the beach, and it's summer. -.-
