Today, I discovered the source of the vile stench in my room. My daughter had "saved" a bird from our cat and put it in a box under my bed, hoping to nurse it back to health. She forgot about it, leaving the corpse rotting in there for who knows how long. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I discovered why there was such a horrible stench in my bedroom. My cat had a secret stash of shit under my dresser. Along with the carcass of a rat. FML
Today, I found out that the horrible stench haunting my apartment for the past week was the decomposing corpse of my freedom loving gerbil underneath the bed that I've been sleeping on. FML
Night killer
Today, I was woken up by a funky smell. My dog had eaten a dead bird and thrown up all over my bed and floor. At 4 o'clock in the morning I had to clean up regurgitated bits of bird, feathers, blood and dog food. The smell still hasn't gone away. FML
Today, I found out that the mysterious smell from under my bed was my cats collection of dead mice. FML
Today, I found a bird that had fallen from its nest, so I made a new nest for it in a shoebox and put it as close to the old one as possible. When I checked back on it later, all I found was a chewed-up corpse. FML
Today, I found a decomposing hamster deep in my closet. My daughter had hidden "Peach" after accidentally killing it and said it had ran away a month ago. And I'd believed her. FML
Smells like victory
Today, I opened my front door to be greeted by what I can only describe as the stink of death. After moving furniture and lifting floorboards, frantically searching for whatever had died, I finally discovered the actual source of the stench - my girlfriend's feet. FML
Gross
Today, I decided to look for the horrid stench coming from my bathroom. It turns out my roommate has been throwing away her used tampons in the "trashcan by the sink." That "trashcan" is my old antique vase. FML
Today, I discovered that the rancid stench in my bathroom was a decaying carcass of a mouse in my toilet tank. FML
Today, I was cleaning my room when I found a nice surprise from my cat. While I was on vacation, she killed a mouse. By the time I found it, there were maggots crawling in my carpet. FML

I just hope the bird was already dead when your daughter "saved it" from the cat so it didn't have to die slowly and painfully under the bed!

It actually happened to me once when I came home from a dove hunting trip and somehow left one of the birds in my bag. Didnt find it until the next hunting season.

the daughter should have let her mom pigeon some advice instead storking the bird underneath the bed. this idea was never going to take flight and ended up robin the bird of its life.

Tell her next time she wants to help an animal to come to you and then you both can nurse it together.

Well that stinks.

Tell her to beak more careful next time. It was nice what she tried to do but it turned pretty fowl. It is not really emusing of what happened to the bird. It was a good act but it turned into an unpheasant situation.

A little bit of an overkill there but it's the thought that counts!

I'm sure the bird wouldn't think 'it's the thought that counts'... Poor thing that must have been a very painful and slow death "/

As much as I commend her for saving the bird, the least she could've done is told you about so it can be taken to an animal clinic. I highly doubt she's qualified and certified to take care of animals

I think that's pretty obvious, judging by how she forgot all about the bird she rescued.

It sounds like she's pretty young. Usually, little kids don't think like that. Also, she probably knew her parents would say no to taking it to an animal hospital, so she took matters into her own hands. Too bad she forgot to actually take care of it ... but I guess you can't have everything.

Still saveable
