Today, at work, a woman demanded a refund for a video game. She had no receipt, so due to company policy, I couldn't refund her. She reacted by loudly accusing me of being racist, then yelled that she'd see me in court as she finally stormed out. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, at work, a woman screamed at me and called me a bitch because I refused to refund something we give away for free. FML
Today, a customer yelled at me so furiously that she sprayed my face with spittle. I had to stand there, smiling and politely explaining that I needed to see a receipt before I could give her a refund. When she finally gave up and left, my boss bitched me out for "provoking the customer". FML
Insult of the week
Today, a customer got angry with me, because store policy says we can't accept returns of unsealed video games unless there's actual damage to the disc. The guy got enraged and started yelling about how I'm a "useless fuckwhistle". I almost got written up for laughing so hard at the insult. FML
Today, I was chewed out by a lady who claimed the laptop she bought wouldn't turn on, and that she wanted a refund. She yelled and shoved the laptop at me, not even listening when I told her I didn't even work at that store. FML
Simmer down, Karen
Today, at work, I refused a customer a refund because there was nothing wrong with the item, and she didn't have the packaging. I then watched as she and her son rummaged through a public bin for the packaging. When I refused her again, she called me a "fucking idiot". FML
Go away, lady!
Today, at work, I had a customer accuse me of taking the giftcard I had issued her for her return, after spending 15 minutes trying to fix her screwed up transaction. She began to yell, and follow me around the store. Security had to intervene and I had to be locked in an office until she left. FML
Worst customers, part 37764
Today, I had to explain to a customer that I couldn't give her a cash refund on a card transaction. She bought the item, and within 5 minutes returned it, demanding a refund. It takes 2 business days for the refund to process. She saw fit to throw an epic tantrum, and I was written up for “upsetting the customer.” FML
Today, I told a customer that we don't do refunds. He responded by throwing his wallet at my face and accusing me of stealing it. FML
Karen strikes again
Today, I was working at a carnival. I was on the ticket booth, and middle-aged lady came up asking for a refund for $50 worth of tickets she didn’t use. However, there are signs saying I can’t give out refunds. She spent 10 minutes yelling at me to give her a refund. FML
Jan scams again
Today, as I was working at a bakery, a woman stormed in, cut in front of the line, and began yelling at me. She claimed I didn't give her a sandwich earlier and demanded a refund. She got the refund out of my paycheck, and as she was leaving she muttered, "Ha, works every time." FML

I hate customers like that. They think the louder they get the more likely it will go their way.

Customers who expect an exchange without a receipt are just idiotic. I see this situation on a regular basis where I work, where something will be half price one week and then the next week someone who "bought this stuff yesterday" come in looking for a full refund without a receipt to verify the dates

I used to love those customers. I worked a small family owned eatery and it was the best in town. Sometimes people would try getting loud trying to get their way . That when the owner who was from Italy would just yell back at them. If they cussed he cussed and then he would throw them out and ban them. They are still in business and they have 0 issues with loud and disorderly customers

Funny thing is, usually it's quite the opposite. The louder you get, the LESS likely I am to give you your way. When will people learn?

I wish my owners would do that! But they do what most do and bend over backwards to at least appease the situation a little

Overreaction much?

You would think so, but this is sadly the way people that work retail are treated DAILY. People think that just because they are walking into a store and that they might possibly spend money that their ass should just be infinitely kissed and caressed.

Sounds just like a typical day at Walmart or Best Buy/Futureshop to me... FYL OP

Note to customers: sale staffs in companies like best-buy have no power. They have to abide by company law and they cannot mend it to fit your needs.

I hear about these incidents from a friend who works in a game store. They keep little cards with the store policy/consumer rights on them for anyone who throws a tantrum like this. You should invest in some.

How dumb people can be? Throwing a temper tantrum fails to get kids what they want why should it work for adults later on in their life?

I worked at a popular electronic store and we could search for the receipt on the POS by matching the debit or credit card #s, that could have been a possible solution?

Not if they paid in cash.

And only if the company has centralized returns.
