Today, I bought a CD off a man who always plays Spanish guitar in the subway. When I got to work and tried playing the CD, it was blank. I paid $15 for a blank CD. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, a co-worker gave me a couple of CDs he said he wanted me to listen to. I got excited, thinking that they were playlists he'd made for me. They were self-help tracks. FML
Today, I arrived at work to find an email from the manager whom I had bought concert tickets from the night before. He said he had actually sold those tickets to someone else. He still expects to be paid. FML
Today, I found out the gift card my friend gave me for Christmas actually has no money on it and was never purchased in the first place. FML
Today, I spent hours playing my guitar and singing in the street, hoping to make some extra cash. About 3 hours in, I realized some punk had been walking around with a hat taking money as if he was with me. FML
Today, I finally released my first music album. I dropped out of college to pay for it after my friends who liked my music urged me to. They keep telling me how much they love the CD. I've only sold one copy. Turns out they put it on a sharing site so only one of them would have to buy it. FML
Today, I was playing guitar on the sidewalk and had my guitar case open for tips. A man came up with a folded piece of green paper, smiled and walked away. After I was finished, I looked at my tips. I unfolded the paper, it was a note that said "You suck!" FML
Today, at work, I put my earphones in to listen to some music. An hour later, I realised I never pressed play. FML
Today, my mate came over wanting me to listen to a new music CD he got. It was by some unknown band, and at the end he asked me what I thought, and I said it was ok but the lead singer couldn't sing even if his life depended on it. Turns out my mate's the lead singer, and it was his own band. FML
Today, I met my favourite singer, but when she signed my CD, the marker was out of ink. By the time I realised there was no signature, she was already gone. FML
Today, I had an old man yell in my face because the boxes in our store only had Spanish words on them. I spent 15 minutes apologizing and trying to explain that the English was on the back side. He stormed out before I could even show him. FML

Screw you all. The reason why people download music is because most of the money doesn't go to the band it goes to the record companies. This is a bloke on the side of the road trying to make an honest buck (or so it seemed) and this is the only way he can make money from the music that he plays for everyone. FYL

I'm a professional musician, and I rely on people paying for my work to make a living. We work just as hard as people in all sorts of professions that you would never imagine getting to work for you for free. Why should we not get paid for it? Try not listening to music if you're not willing to pay for it, and see how you feel then about whether music is worth your support. This guy isn't an honest musician, apparently, but saying that someone should never pay for music at all is basically telling me that my whole life and livelihood is not worth anyone's dime. I'd like to hear you say that to my face.

mistake** I hate when FML freezes and I can't fix my error before time runs out. But I've bought several CDs from people that sing on corners /the train or are just walking around promoting their band, and this has never happened. x-x

Yeah, it might've been a mistake. Why would someone rip someone else off, when he's going to be in the same place every day? Basically, he's there in the subway every day, so he knows that you know where he works! Go back and tell him he accidently sold you a blank cd, and ask him for a different copy. If the other copy is also blank, or he refuses, well, you can heckle him every day from then on :)

I'd say it's probably a mistake. If he's at that same spot all the time, he's probably not there to rip people off because it's not exactly hard to find him in that case. Bring the CD back and tell him what happened and he'll probably give you another one.
