Today, I asked my friend who is a fashion major why she didn't want to use me as a model for her senior project. She said my boobs were too big. I doubt it'd have been an issue if I were a girl. FML

Today, I was walking with my girlfriend, when she walked ahead of me cat-walk style, turned around and said, "Do you think I could model?" I blurted out, "Yes... for a plus-size clothing line." FML
Today, a classmate accused me of having butt implants because "women can't have a huge ass and pancake tits". FML
Today, my 4 year-old daughter was looking at a magazine cover with a well endowed model showing off her cleavage. She looked at me and said, "Mommy, when I grow up, will I have big round boobies like her or tiny pointy ones like you?" FML
Today, when people ask me what I’m doing this summer and I answer that I’m going into plus-size modeling, they rudely say, “Oh, me too,” or, “Oh, my grandma too.” I have an hourglass figure and spent hours on my portfolio, but everyone still thinks I’m just trying to feel better about being fat. FML
Today, I was doing a sewing project in class. My friend said we should get the teachers to model our designs. I said that I did not think I would have enough material to make clothes for one of the teachers. I said this in front of the whole class very loudly, while the teacher was right next to me. FML
Today, my mom, sister, and I were talking about a friend's girlfriend. My sister's opinion of her was that she was cute but not hot. My mom agreed, saying that she didn't think that someone without boobs could EVER be hot. She then looked at me and said, "No offense." FML
Today, I was in the car with my boyfriend when I said, "I wish all the weight I gained just went to my boobs." His reply was, "They'd be HUGE." FML
Today, I was sitting on a rather small, uncomfortable bean bag while my friend was sitting on a nice chair. She asked if I wanted to switch seats, not so I could be more comfortable, but because she thought I was too fat and that I would burst the bean bag. FML
Today, I was chosen out of 64 women to model for the catalog of a new clothing store. Just when my self-confidence took a dramatic boost, I looked at the evaluation sheet. I was picked due to attributes such as my "extra large figure and average face" to make below average women feel beautiful. FML

18- clearly you know nothing about modeling it's called plus size modeling AND there are more pretty/hot bigger girl/guys then hot/pretty skinny people. lol . i'm 130 pounds and I'm 16 I'm not fat I'm Normal . and i'm pretty (: so why don't everyone just leave him alone like really , do u go up to ppl in the streets with moobs and say "eww ur fat an nasty" no don't think so , that's how u get ur ass beat .

Why are people getting so touchy about this subject? The fashion industry *clearly* established that in order to be a runway model you had to be tall and thin. It has nothing to do with the model, it's purely for the purpose of displaying the clothing. I just find it odd that after years of this kind of debate going on and nothing changing people are still getting defensive. Just live with it. Besides, I'm guessing that plenty of people here wouldn't be able to model because they aren't tall enough. You have to be at least 5"8 and I don't know many women that height.
