Today, I finally had a phone call after a week of nothing. It was my mother. It was by accident. FML
Today, my phone rang for the first time in four days. It was my mom. She dialed the wrong number. FML
Today, I called my mom for the first time in a few weeks, just to chat because I miss her. When she picked up, the first thing she said was, "Why are you calling? What's wrong? Do you have swine flu??" When I told her that I didn't, and I just wanted to chat, she hung up. FML
Today, I got a call from this girl I really like. Surprised, as I never get anything other than a text from her, I answered. All I heard were rustling sounds. She had pocket dialed me. FML
Today, I called my mom to tell her that I finally got my period. There was an awkward pause. She was at work. I was on speakerphone. FML
Today, I talked to my mom about hanging out with her. She got out her phone to schedule an appointment. FML
Today, I called my mother to say hi. She spent a whole hour and a half complaining about how I never call her, bawling and calling me "a waste of human flesh." I call her at least once a week. FML
Today, while I was sitting in the living room with my mother, my phone rang. She immediately exclaimed, "I'm not calling you! Why is it going off?" She was serious. My own mother doesn't believe people talk to me. FML
Today, my father called me for the first time in two weeks since I moved away. Excited, I answered the phone. It was a mistake. He thought he'd called my sister. FML
Today, I went on a date, and halfway through I started getting nonstop calls from “Mom” on my phone. Annoyed, I silenced them. Later, I checked my voicemail. It was actually my mom calling from the ER because she had slipped and broken her ankle. FML

i think my mom calls me way too much, and i still live with her. i don't mind it, bu ti hate phones in general so she calls me maybe thrice a day. but i still think it's sad that your mom never calls you, maybe she's waiting for you? or maybe you didn't want to call her because you assumed there's a reason she didn't want to call you. who knows, still sad though

Hey guys, maybe his/her mom won't pick up the phone? Maybe the OP did something he/she now regrets quite some time ago, and his/her mother is being immature and shunning him/her? If he/she was so excited about his/her mom calling, wouldn't that suggest that his/her mom will not speak to him/her, and that he/she is desperate to hear from his/her mom? Sorry for all the he/she's etc. lol. I felt the need to be grammatically correct this morning.

seriously i find it soooo grosss and definitly YDI for not contacting your own mother...like seriously u need a hallmark holiday to remember her??? these are ur parents, they brought life to you...and u will never repay them back with something of the same magnitude so atleast add them to your life...im disgusted by this fml. #28....what bothers me is why is there a year gap between phone calls...why would she wait a year before thinking to contacting her...if she misses her mom so much and was excited ...then this fml wouldnt be here...because then they would have been contacting each other earlier.

#3 FYL OP, the phone works both ways. Did you call her for mother's day this year? How about her birthday? You can't complain about never getting called if you don't call either.

Who's to say the OP didn't try calling his/her mother, hmm? I can't believe you all jump to the worst conclusions so quickly. It's unfair. Read #26. I agree with that post.
