Today, at the end of my 10-hour shift, my manager made me count exactly how many business cards were left in inventory before I could leave. She didn't believe me when the number came to exactly 3000. She made me count them all again. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I noticed that all 200 remaining business cards out of the 500 that I had made have the wrong phone number on them. FML
Today, after all of the business cards for the car dealership that I work for were printed, the phone number was wrong, and the lady got so pissed about getting so many calls that she told them that they had won a free car. I had to tell dozens of ecstatic customers that they hadn't. FML
Today, a lady came into my workplace to pay her $120 bill in one dollar bills. I kept losing count. FML
Today, my stupid coworker informed the managers that there were no more kids' menus downstairs. Trusting her word, they ordered 3 full boxes. She then asked me where we kept them. We now have 12,000 kids menus to fold. FML
Today, I loaded up a cart at work with all the things that take me the longest to stock, figuring I'd just get it over with. My manager decided to use that cart to time me and measure my efficiency. FML
Today, at work, I was told at the beginning of my shift that we would be enforcing a 4-item limit on hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc. Not even 20 minutes later, I had 2 customers bitch me out. This is going to be a long shift, if not year. FML
Today, at work, I had a customer accuse me of taking the giftcard I had issued her for her return, after spending 15 minutes trying to fix her screwed up transaction. She began to yell, and follow me around the store. Security had to intervene and I had to be locked in an office until she left. FML
Today, I thought I was having a nice day at work, until I had a client who paid me $376 in rolls made of 0.05 and 0.10. It took me an hour to count. FML
Today, I was working as a cashier at a restaurant. When I receive $50 and $100 bills I am required to have a manager check to make sure they are not counterfeit. Every manager I found yelled at me to find another manager because they were busy. Frustrated, I just accepted the bill. It was fake. FML
Today, at work, I had to analyze timecards data and generate a report on the least billed / occupied people at work. I found myself at the bottom. I sent it to my boss too. FML

If it's that important, and she didn't believe you the first time, you should've requested that she verify the quantity herself. *Sigh*... not that a smart-ass jab like that would help your relationship with that jerk, but having you count thousands of business cards twice at the end of your day just sounds like she's trying to push your buttons.

Sounds like an asshole on a power trip. Did she state why it was so important to count them? Was it part of your job? That honestly sounds like abuse to me.

Maybe you could not count them again, lie and say you did, and say you got 3003 or repeat that you did indeed got 3000. I know lying is awful especially to your boss but she does kind of deserve this. And if she doesn't believe you then tell her she can verify it and count them herself. If she's making you recount them, she probably isn't planning on counting them herself so I think you're safe.

should have counted out a small number, then split the cards into piles the same height then count the piles

Was it after your shift or during? If its during then just do it. If its after then unless she pays you she can't make you do anything. Kindly inform her of your contract, if she chooses to get rid then its unfair dismissal, if she fires you for something else you did then its possibly constructed dismissal.
