Today, at my local amusement park, I decided it'd be fun to meet someone on the roller coaster by sitting alone and hoping that someone nice would sit next to me. I rode the roller coaster 7 times. I sat alone each time. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to an amusement park with a group of friends, one of whom was a girl I really like. When we got on the roller coaster, I was ecstatic that she wanted to sit next to me. Not even half-way through, I ended up puking all over the both of us. FML
Today, I worked at my job at an amusement park at one of the roller coasters. I have to go around and make sure that every seat belt is around the passenger. I saw my boyfriend in a seat and ran over to say hi. I saw a girl next to him. I had to strap down my cheating boyfriend and the new girl. FML
End of the line
Today, I waited 75 minutes for a rollercoaster. I got on the front seat and it broke a few seconds before it started. It was closed for the rest of the day. FML
Aaaaaaaaaaah!
Today, I went on a rollercoaster for the first time. I sat in the back, which was a bad idea. When it ended everyone in front of me turned around and stared. When I asked my friend what was going on, she said I had been screaming the Lord's Prayer the whole time. I hadn't even noticed. FML
Today, I invited over 30 people to come to the park with me since the day was nice and cool. I sat there for three hours by myself. FML
Today, I tried to tackle my fear of heights by riding a rollercoaster. Once we were near the top, it malfunctioned, causing it to stop, and we all had to get out and climb back down. My girlfriend laughed at me for how scared I was. FML
Freaked out
Today, I went to an amusement park with my family and we all decided to ride the tallest rollercoaster. As soon as the ride got going, I realized I'd made a huge mistake and was too terrified to open my eyes. I spent the entire ride screaming, with my hands over my eyes, and afterwards my cousin called me a wuss. FML
Queasy
Today, I tried being the 'cool parent' by taking my kids to a fancy, expensive amusement park, but ended up getting stuck on every ride and getting motion sickness. FML
Today, I went to an amusement park with my family. I was the only one who put on sunblock, and the only one who got a sunburn. FML
Today, I went to see a movie with 4 friends. I didn't realize that I was the only one who didn't have a date. The theater row had just enough room for everyone but me, I got to sit in back of everyone else while they were making out in front of me for 2 hours. FML

I don't understand why some people say you deserve it.

Because it's a pathetic attempt to make friends?
JMichael 26
I think it's quite thoughtful
brand125 17
the OP deserved it because they chose to repeatedly ride it for a lame reason when its obviously not working
zZLightZz 13
who goes to an amusement park alone? no one sat beside you because they wanted to sit with their own friends. you basically took two seats and inconvienced people.

At 5. You're right everyone meets on the internet now a days. How dare he try and make a new friend the old fashioned way.
teentee401 37
Maybe cause most people come to the park with someone else? It's probably not cause of you. People probably just already have a partner to ride with.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and expecting different results

maybe should have tried actually, you know, *talking* to someone
kingdomgirl94 29
Who randomly makes friends at the amusement park anyways? If I sat next to someone on a ride for whatever reason and they tried to talk to me or hang out with me after, I'd be really creeped out.

#21, one year I had a season pass for a nearby amusement park and would go nearly every day after work for an hour to unwind. It's not uncommon for people to go alone.
gshocker20 21
Yes, 22. The old-fashioned way is to go to amusement parks alone and inconvenience people by taking up two or more seats, expecting someone to befriend you without speaking to them at all first.

21 - Actually, lots of people go on rides (especially coasters) alone. That's why some amusement parks have a single rider line.

We shall leave this comment at 8 thumbs up in commemoration of this classic quote.

#16: what good would that do though?

hey look on the bright side If you are sitting alone people can't puke on your front

Creative approach :) Might have been better to try and find someone sitting by themselves, too. Sorry it didn't work out, but hope you enjoyed the rides!

Or OP could go out to a social gathering or a more common place for meeting people. People usually go to amusement parks with friends. Not to make friends.

Instead of enjoying the moment?... should've learned your lesson the first time.

I'm sorry, just keep riding maybe the right friend hasn't riden yet
wookieewhosshe 29
the staff running it are silently judging... watching and judging...
tehdarkness 21
And laughing. Not silently. And updating their Facebook status about you.

Sorry OP that sounds harsh. There are better ways of speed dating, you should try them instead or roller coasters.
cryssycakesx3 23
I don't think it's necessarily "harsh," per se. it just wasn't a good idea. no one wants to sit next to the creep sitting themselves. as others have said, people usually go with someone else. the best thing is talking to people, instead of waiting for them to talk to you. it's a weird way to try to make friends.
91hayek 31
I was thinking about doing it six times over when the first time didn't work. Putting yourself through that is harsh. I guess OP is a very thorough person; which is a good trait, but not in this situation.

#43 - Just because someone is sitting alone on a roller coaster doesn't make them creepy. They could be the in a group that happens to number so they end up in the next row by themselves, are with other people that just didn't want to ride leaving them to ride alone (why skip a ride you enjoy just because nobody else in the group wants to ride), or are just at the amusement park by themselves because they find going to the amusement park enjoyable. Why do they have to be with someone else so they aren't creepy? Besides that, just because OP was trying to make a friend in an unusual way you insinuate it as a bad thing. What's wrong with trying to make friends that way, or any other way that is out of the ordinary, as long as you have no bad intentions? It's unfortunate for OP that nobody came and sat with them. It's because of there are so many people with a presumptuous and judgmental attitude like yours that OP feels that they are to blame when there are a vast number of possible reasons to the contrary. Maybe there weren't many people that day and so there were no groups that had enough people to fill the vacant seat(s) in the same row as OP or whoever was riding alone or with few enough people that could've say next to OP wanted to sit by themselves. It's absolutely repulsive that you can make such ignorant statements to another person and shows a complete lack of respect for others and their feelings.

Haha Thats gotta hurt :P I always end up next to some kid that tried to cuss to seem cool. In disneyland i was on a whole car of cussing 12 year olds.

Why do you type like you want to make a poem?
cailey1234567890 24
Why is everyone judging the way i type? It has nothing to do with my comment. So why bring it up?
cailey1234567890 24
And i dont Do this Because that Would be Really stupid Which i Am not
Amama_fml 30
Yes, cause this is very different from what you did before.
cailey1234567890 24
Its completely different. I don't stop mid sentence and start a new line. That'd be pretty freaking ridiculous. Im not stupid. Its easier for me to follow when i start a new line. So maybe everyone could stop judging the way i freaking type when it has nothing to do with my comment.
