Today, at exactly midnight, I get a text from my boyfriend saying we were done. I had just seen him 4 hours ago when we were out celebrating my birthday, and asked why he didnt just tell me then. He replies 'I couldn't break up with you on your birthday but i wanted it to be over ASAP' FML

Today, my boyfriend broke up with me two days before my birthday. Only to make it worse, I found out that he had been texting my mother on how to break up with me. To make it even worse, she was giving him tips. FML
Today, my boyfriend dumped me. He decided he would be a gentleman and do this to me at work, over text, during a rush of unsympathetic customers, the day before our anniversary. FML
Today, I threw an elaborate surprise birthday party for my boyfriend of four years. He thought we were going to a quiet dinner but when we arrived, thirty of his friends jumped out and surprised him. Instead of kissing me to thank me, he broke up with me because of how easily I had lied to him. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me to stay home, because he wanted to come by to give me a birthday surprise. Later on, he came by, posted a note, rung the bell and left. The note was a break up note. FML

almost same thing happened to me my ex took me out to a nice romantic french dinner the day before my birthday. i got a text at 12:05 am the next morning, aka. my birthday, telling me it was over. i asked him why he didn't just do it earlier, and he said he had to wait till after dinner to make sure he wanted to end it. As for you the OP sorry about what happened. It may have been nice of him to wait until your b-day was over but if he knew he wanted out before that then he could have told you sooner. Then you could have hung out on your b-day with people who really care about you.
