Today, as a last resort for my back problems, I tried acupuncture. After the needles were placed and the doctor had left, I couldn't move for 30 minutes. I had a panic attack. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to get my first acupuncture. The doctor was a cute Korean woman, so I tried to start a conversation. When she pricked me with a needle near the tailbone, I involuntarily let one loose and saw her gag. FML
Great timing
Today, I had a panic attack. Not on a crowded train, or an airplane, or in school, or any of the expected places. It was in my yoga class, which my therapist recommended for me, while I was in a dead-body position. FML
Today, my needle-phobic mother took me to get a shot. She fainted. FML
Today, I almost died after getting an epidural in my neck. The medicine paralyzed my entire body, including my diaphragm and lungs. The doctor tried to say it was a panic attack. I had turned blue. FML
Help!
Today, I went to the hospital for crippling back pain that made it impossible to walk. The doctor was more interested in telling me off for not taking a pill that he admitted doesn't help acute pain. He then gave me an injection that wore off in an hour, and sent me home, telling me to take over the counter meds. FML
Get me out of here
Today, while getting my MRI, I found out I had claustrophobia when I had a major panic attack and then was pulled out after only completing a single scan. I suffered through the other 10 because if that happened a second time, we'd have to reschedule after I took meds for it. I didn't even know I had claustrophobia. FML
Get me out
Today, I realized that I needed a new job when I had to take anti-anxiety medication before meeting with my boss. Last time we met, I had a panic attack. FML
Today, I had a panic attack because I was constipated. FML
New sensation
Today, I learned I'm claustrophobic by having a raging oh-god-I'm-gonna-fucking-die panic attack while I was stuck inside an MRI scanner. FML
Bent out of shape
Today, I went for a massage because my shoulder's been hurting for months but I can't take decent painkillers because they'd react with my anti-depressants. It STILL hurts, but worse, across my upper spine, and I can't tilt my head back. I paid to look like The Hunchback of Notre Dame doing a swan impression. FML

That's the point of acupuncture, you aren't supposed to move while the needles are in.

We know.

OP was saying that they weren't supposed to move, but they had a panic attack.

Panic attacks can be triggered from anything. Even over-thinking about something can cause one.
wellthen7154 12
Yea, chances are it might not have been the fact he wasn't allowed to move that caused the panic attack. Panic attacks can happen for various reasons, and having one at that time would really suck (hence why it's an FML, I guess.). I know my panic attacks make me shiver, so I would be ****** in that situation. So, OP knew he wasn't supposed to move, that's the point.

#10, ever tried self massage by lying (lying? laying? FML community, help me here) down, putting a tennisball under your back and rolling back and forth or moving your arms? If you want a deeper massage you can use a golfball. It's hurts like crazy (first time I did it I nearly cried), but it gives relief. And when everything is loose again, you feel so good.
