Today, my needle-phobic mother took me to get a shot. She fainted. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I tried to get over my childhood phobia of syringes by donating blood. The phlebotomist hadn't even touched the needle before I started sobbing hysterically. They made me leave. FML
Today, I had to get bloodwork done. I'm deathly afraid of needles. The whole lobby heard me scream as soon as the nurse said 'hello'. FML
Today, I had to give a 63 year old man a shot. He started bawling before I even brought out the needle. I tried to get him calm down. Then he grabbed the needle, threw it at me and ran out the door. FML
Fear
Today, while I was at the doctor's, they told me that my son and I needed a shot, I went first to show my son that it wouldn't hurt and that shots were not something to be afraid of. When they gave me mine, I started crying. My four year-old son handles pain better than his 29 year-old mom. FML
Thanks for nothing
Today, my mother-in-law came over. Probably thinking that the needles in our fridge were steroids, and wanting to do the right thing, she took them to throw them away. I'm diabetic, and they were my insulin. I went into shock after she left and had to go to the hospital. FML
Panic!
Today, I was at the doctor and I had to get a fingerstick in the lab to get blood drawn. There was a 6 year-old boy waiting to go next. He was terrified. His mother told him to, "Watch this brave girl go first." I panicked and began to hyperventilate. The kid fainted. FML
Today, I found out how it feels when someone slips and falls while they have a hypodermic needle in your arm. FML
Side effects
Today, I went to get an HPV vaccine after being convinced to by my mom. I stayed in the waiting room afterwards, because the vaccine has the possible side-effect of causing fainting. I didn't faint; instead, I spent the next 15 minutes giggling uncontrollably like a psycho. FML
Today, I got my annual blood test. The nurse was inexperienced and it took her several tries to insert the needle properly. When I get back home, my fiancé starts yelling at me and storms out. The reason? I am a recovering drug addict and my arm appeared as if I had been shooting up. FML
Today, I now know what it feels like to violently sneeze while a nurse still has a needle in your arm. FML

Cool! You can skip the shot. When your mom comes to, tell her you are finished and can go home now. Or stop off for ice cream for being such a brave girl!

I think this is F her life not yours unless you got that publicly embarrassed by a common phobia your mom has

Personally I would have been really amused by this.

I agree completely. I have a needle phobia that will make me faint, and I got a cortisone shot yesterday. The feeling of wanting to faint even when you don't look at the needle is awful. F the mom's life.

I have no clue how this made it through the moderating phase. Worst FML I've seen.

well, its not very comforting or fun for OP to see her mum faint is it?

she should have just left the room

She should have brought someone else to watch you or just left the room

She can use this to her advantage, too. If she needs to sneak out or something , or sick of hearing her Mum whine she can just whip out a needle and her mum will be out for long enough to make a break. And her Dad always wonders why she faints in bed... Must think it's because he's so good.

Albeit for embarrassment, why is this an FML?

What a hypocrite! Just kidding. She must be so embarrassed though. Poor thing.

why is OP's mom a hypocrite for fainting when seeing something she's scared of? I know you said 'just kidding', but still, it makes no sense
