Today, after years of researching and saving money, I got a pet fox. I was able to enjoy the majesty of the animal for three hours before it burrowed under the fence and ran away. FML

He probably felt foxed in.

Listen Doc, there is such a thing as "domesticated foxes" just like cats and dogs had to be domesticated through breeding, training, and human interaction. If you do your research like OP did you would know that domesticated foxes make better pets than most cats & dogs because they have the best traits of both. If anything I blame OP for not installing a deep rooted fence because foxes at notorious diggers.

Iowa, huh? Interesting. A fox just turned up in my grandpa's backyard the other day.

shouldve gotten a falcon

YDI ...foxes are wild animals those shouldnt be trapped in cities.

Some people live in suburbs or rural areas and have nice backyards for their pets. Also foxes love to go on walks so there will be no problems of them getting stir crazy

And now the hunt begins,"get the horses and dogs boys!"

Wild animals are not pets

OK, but foxes have been domesticated.

If it comes back it is yours forever. If not, it never was.

I'm guessing you didn't really research it all that much.

Just out of curiousity... WHY WOULD YOU BUY A FOX?

because they make great pets if bred in captivity

That fox made quite the sneak and dash from you. Perhaps invest your money towards a pet that isn't so cunning with their tricks.

Animals don't talk either but that didn't stop them.
