Today, I wandered around my property with my children, trying to find our escaped house cat. While in the more wooded parts, we spotted her on the ground, being picked over by a coyote. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Take care
Today, I looked out the window just in time to see a coyote carrying off my cat that I had just let outside five minutes before. FML
Ninja!
Today, I went searching for my cat who'd escaped. Of course, I searched the entire building and somehow she'd got back in through my front door of my apartment. FML
Cat Burglar!
Today, I found my lost cat. As I was hooking it up to a leash to get it in my car, a man approached and asked what I was doing. His kids alerted him that there was a woman stealing their cat from their front lawn. It was not my cat. FML
Caturday surprise
Today, as I returned from work, a cat was meowing at me in a bush. I said hi to it and walked inside. Then I noticed one of my cats was nowhere to be found. After a bit of panicking, I finally figured out that cat in the bush was MY cat, and he was meowing because he was stuck. I don't know how he got outside. FML
It's alive!
Today, I found my cat downstairs with a squirrel dangling from his mouth. When I saw this, I yelled at my cat to put it down. He did. Turns out the squirrel was still alive and run. I had to spend the next three hours chasing it out of my house. FML
Get back
Today, my cat escaped through my front door. It was dark out, so I had no idea where I was going. I finally caught up to him in my neighbour’s lawn and I gave him heck for scaring me. It took me a minute to realize I was actually talking to a bush in their flowerbed. FML
Rabies ain't no joke
Today, a coyote turned up in the yard where my son and his friend were playing. It was aggressive and foaming at the mouth, so I called the boys inside, and shot it. Now my wife is scared of me and half the neighborhood wants me gone for "dangerous behavior." FML
Today, my mother's beloved cat died and we thought it would be nice to bury it in the back yard. I came home from work and while walking to the door saw that the cat had been dug up and partially eaten by the local raccoons and strays. FML
Home entertainment
Today, my cat got out. I was chasing him in the field behind my backyard, barefoot while wearing PJs, yelling my head off like a raving lunatic. The field soil was sludge, and my feet sunk right in with every step. After I got him, I heard a snap of a soda can. My neighbours were there the whole time, watching. FML
Today, I searched our neighborhood for our lost dog. After screaming at the top of our lungs, driving around in circles, and asking strangers, we realized we took him to the groomers this morning. FML

ouch! that's got to suck...

OP, if you live near coyotes, you shouldn't be letting your cat roam around unsupervised.
ydi_4_suking 20
But #20 it says escaped house cat. It doesn't seem like they let it out on purpose

OP probably thought her cat was still alive. Nooooope, just Chuck Testa!
slushpup9696 12
Argh I'm stupid, didn't read correctly. That's what I get for trying to read this on a shaky bus... Sorry for your loss, OP.

Only in AMERICA, were people get emotional on a deceased pet rather on children dying from starvation! True Story.

You mustn't be the brightest crayon to be oblivious to the fact that OP is from Nova Scotia.

Well, you found her. What was left of her.

I surely hope you don't have any pets! This is one of the most apathetic comments I have ever seen.
Awsumuzzie 12
That was so useless and heartless of you, they're usually part of the family. What did you hope to accomplish with that comment? Just be thankful you probably never went through something like that, you're too heartless to have a pet.

the cat was just lower on the food chain.

sarcasm sure is tough to detect over the internetz... In any case, I lol'd (assuming it's sarcasm).

Coyotes? Don't even let your kids out!!

61- Even if it was sarcasm, it wasn't very nice, let alone funny

I'm assuming your comment has been thumbed down by pet lovers, don't mess with them they get mad when you joke about their family that way.

66- Damn rights :3

Why? Coyotes arent dangerous. Most of them are the size of a small lab. They are more scared of humans than we are of them

Or keep the coyote.

That's so sad! I'm really sorry! :(

Declawing your cat is not a good idea. You never know when they have to react in the wild.
zann_fml 2
Where did anyone say anything about the cat being declawed?
perdix 31
I made it up. A housecat with claws should be able to fend off a coyote. How are we going to have any fun if every fact has to be spelled out in black-and-white?
wittygirl 8
Amen to lack of imagination. What if the ca was half Blum or deaf and didn't detect the coyote coming?
wittygirl 8
Cat* and blind* hate my phone e.e
PeteyPablo12308 20
Oh no... Not true. I live in the boonies, and outdoor cats get killed by coyotes all the time. Claws and all.
perdix 31
#24/27, what if the cat was retarded and thought the coyote was just giving her a hickey?
Talis99 26
Good Lord, Perdix that's ignorant. Cats are killed by regular dogs all the time let alone by a ******* coyote. Besides, it might have been surprised.
Ahmed Kablar 7
You can bet your ass it was surprised!

With your children? At least a dingo didn't eat your baby.
elephantom12 9
They're from Nova Scotia, no kangaroos there.
ShroomsOnAcid 17
Dingos are wild dogs, not kangaroos.
WCARlover 35
Does it really matter WHAT ate it? Fact is, it was eaten
docscientist 10
I used to be a parent just like you. Then a dingo ate my baby.
