Today, after telling a friend I was contemplating asking a girl to prom, my friend took my phone, told me to have some balls, and texted the girl asking her to prom. She said no, because I asked her over text instead of in person. She refuses to believe I didn't send the text. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Noooooo
Today, I was planning on asking out a girl I've been really close to for a few months now. I was with her when I got a forward text from my friend. It was from the girl and it said, "Noooo tell him not to ask me out I don't like him." I got rejected via a forwarded text before I could tell her how I felt. FML
Unexpected
Today, I asked my girlfriend to prom. Instead of saying yes, she broke up with me. FML
Today, I asked a girl to prom by having 5 friends hold up signs saying "P-R-O-M-?" while I snuck up behind her. She said yes... to my friend holding the "?", who she thought was the one asking her. FML
Today, I had an elaborate plan to ask this girl to Prom, and it was going to take a few minutes to set up. I asked my friend to distract her. He decided to distract her by asking her to Prom. She said "Yes". FML
Today, I asked a short girl to prom by making a "You must be this tall to say no" sign. She grabbed a chair, stood on it, and then said no. FML
Today, I decided I didn't care about my pride, and so I asked this girl out in a text. After an hour of no response I asked again. Later I got a text saying, "I'm sorry, This is Emily's mom. Emily isn't here at the moment, but if I were you, I wouldn't ask again." I was rejected by her mom. FML
Cynically poisoned
Today, I rejected my crush's prom proposal because I didn't think he was being serious and wanted to prank me or something. Turns out he was serious but now he's going with another girl. FML
Today, after weeks of my crazy girlfriend avoiding me because she knew I wanted to break up with her, I had no option but to do it by text. She told all my friends, who now think I'm a coward who isn't man enough to break up in person. They didn't even ask for my side of the story. FML
Today, I went to visit my Grandmother, accidentally leaving my phone home during the weekend. When I got back I had 2 texts from my crush. One saying "I want to take the most beautiful girl to prom, go with me?" and the other saying, "Fine fattie, I'll ask someone else." FML
Today, I didn't have the courage to tell the guy who likes me that I only thought of him as a friend, so I asked my best friend to do it for me. It turns out that her way of doing this is telling him to "Fuck off" and then punching him in the face. FML

If she really wanted to go with you she wouldn't have cared how you asked. Sounds like just an excuse not to go with you.

Did you explain over text as well or in person? Maybe you should contact her face to face, with friend in tow so friend can confirm the story and apologize like a big boy, and ask her to prom again.

Dude it sounds like you dodged a bullet. If a girl is picky over how they want to be asked to prom then they can just go by themselves. They don't deserve to be taken to prom.

That is. completely unreasonable. Sounds like an excuse to me.

This is why you put pass odds on your phone and never tell anyone the code.

I drove a good bit to a very good friend's house and asked him to prom. He said no because his mom didn't go to hers. -_- I texted another friend after my ego healed and we had a blast. hahaha

That's pathetic behaviour from her. Like the way you asked matters. Plus if she refuses to believe something so simple and unimportant, she would be trouble with bigger matters in the future. You're better off!

Ok, a lot of these comments are probably from guys. Walk a mile in her shoes, dudes. If a girl is attractive, yes, she has to weed out guys who won't suit her. That's why chicks don't eat that last piece of pie, work out, and buy makeup, so she has choices. Sounds primitive, but you know it's true. That's what boys do also. You're not going to ask someone you are not attracted to out for the prom, are you? She wants a guy who is romantic, and has the guts to ask her out personally. There's nothing wrong with that. The guy who wrote the post should pick up some flowers, pick up his friend, and go over to her house, explain what happened, and ask again. If she refuses this time, then, yes, she is a waste of his time. If not, then he knows not to give up so easily next time.
