Today, a phone I bought online turned up while I was at work. The delivery guy left a note saying he'd left the package with my neighbor at #10. When I went and knocked on the door and asked for the package, my neighbor said "Nope, nothing delivered here." and quickly shut the door in my face. FML

Report them! You have the delivery guy as a witness, and I'd assume they had to sign for the package. Don't let them get away with theft!

Buy a phone online, they said. It will be fun, they said. But seriously, you have a dick neighbour. FYL

well I woulda quickly reported that dumb ass that delivered my shit.

I would be pretty mad at the delivery company too, because unless you had specified it was alright why would they assume the neighbor was going to make good and give you your stuff?

Hello police; i'd like to report petty theft lol

Hello 911 my neighbor stole my package please arrest him and knock some sense into him ASAP!!

Taking mail is a Federal Crime in the United States if sent through USPS. Keep the note from your deliverer and call the police (non emergency) for information on who to contact next. Even if the deliverer left the item with a neighbor, the neighbor is not allowed to withhold or open your mail if its delivered using USPS. If it was delivered using a courier company like Fedex or UPS, contact the company and tell them the situation the deliverer left you in. They will be responsible for replacement for not delivering it to you directly. Hell, you have the note stating what they did, you will be reimbursed. Call as fast as you can as it can become difficult the longer you wait.

that's a federal offense. just saying

Apparently, your neighbor loves his - er- your your new phone!

I've never understood the practice of leaving mail with a neighbor when you aren't home. Why would they assume you know or trust your neighbors? I'm sure this sort of thing happens to people all the time.

report that you didn't receive the package and have them send a new phone
