Today, a little girl I give horse-riding lessons to told me she had saved up $8.00 for her own pony. I laughed and thought how cute she was, then realized that was more than I have in my own savings account. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I realized that my 5 year old son has more money saved up in his piggy bank than I have in my actual bank account. FML
Adjusted for inflation
Today, my 7 year-old daughter was counting all the money she made over the weekend from her lemonade stand. She made sixty dollars and said now she has more money than I do. She's right. FML
Money money money, must be funny
Today, my sister, who has "borrowed" almost nine hundred dollars from me over the last few months, told me I was pathetic for not having my driver's license yet and that I "wasn't normal". I was saving that money for my driving lessons. FML
Broke
Today, a lady I know gave my 3 year-old daughter a little coin purse, saying, "Your mum can put some money in that for you." My daughter responded, "But mummy has no money." I would have laughed, had it not been spot on. FML
Today, I realized that the closest thing I have to a savings account is the cup on my dresser with coins in it. I counted it, $17.34. That is my savings. I'm 28. FML
Rip off
Today, I learned that my daughter pocketed the money I'd paid so she could go to college. FML
Check this out
Today, I took my daughter to a pony ride at the fair. I paid to have her picture taken, and when we got home, I emailed it to my mom. She replied, disgustedly pointing out that the pretty little pony was displaying a pretty little penis. FML
Whatever it is, it's not enough
Today, my second-grade daughter asked her teacher how much money she makes. FML
Thievery
Today, I checked my bank account that I've been saving money in since I was a kid for college. I have $100 left out of the $10,000 I had last month. Apparently my parents thought buying a pool and an HDTV for themselves was more important than my college education. FML
Giving!
Today, I gave my niece a $100 bill instead of a $10 so she could buy ice cream. When I realized my mistake, she never returned it but thanked me and gave me a big hug. Now I don't have money for gas or food all week. FML

Don't you make money through lessons?

Considering her user name is iHateBeingaStudent, I would assume that's her part time job while she's in college. College seems to get really expensive so I believe she doesn't have any money left because of that.

Do you just give horse-riding lessons for free or do you charge $0.50 a week?

The barn tends to take a portion of what is made. The barn I used to teach at took 70%. On top of being a student, I understand where the OP is coming from.

I charge $20/hr. Not exactly going to retire on it but it helps pay the groceries lol (I'm also not in the US, it's not through a barn)

Why do you have a savings account? If you're a student, you should be racking up mountains of debt.

Better be careful you don't get hit with minimum balance fees. You could be in the negative and not even know it.

112 - Someone who is 16, almost 17, is considered little now? Lol

Yes

Haha how? If you're talking about little physically, that makes sense because I'm only 4'10"-4'11". But if you're talking about little as in immature, I'm not. I'm almost considered an adult.
