Today, I finally told the girl I'm in love with how I've felt ever since we first met six years ago. She let me know that not only does she not feel the same way, she's always considered me a creep and only ever hung out with me because of our mutual friends. FML
Today, I told the girl I've been seeing for a while about the strong feelings that I have for her and that I was falling in love. She told me my words made her realize what it felt like to be in love. My words were so powerful, in fact, that she ran right back into the arms of her ex boyfriend. FML

Today, I got rejected by a girl I was talking to. We had mutual feelings, and I waited a long time for her to be single again. We talked, made out, and now she has gotten into another relationship, acting like she doesn't like me anymore… but still wants to be friends? FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. As everything was ending, I tried to save the relationship by telling her how much I cared about her. Her response? "Please stop. You're gonna make me feel bad." FML

Kudos to you for breaking up when I assume you were unhappy before trying to “put the moves” on your crush… You never can be sure how welcome your romantic interest is going to be until you are there in person talking to them. It seems you misread your “crush”. Take her word for it and move on. I don’t recommend trying to go back to your ex after this. I assume the relationship wasn’t working - That happens. Just keep trying and you will eventually find someone who is interested in you and you are interested in them… The old expression about salesmen is that you have to knock on a lot of doors before making a sale. That’s true of a lot of things. Be yourself, but be on good behavior at all times.
