Today, I was just browsing Facebook when my friend sent me a GoFundMe link. Someone wrote a page saying I killed myself and that we need money for funeral services. People are actually donating to it. FML
Today, my idiot sister had to have her aged dog put down, then she posts on MY Facebook page, "RIP, Buddy, we'll miss you." My adult children and most of my friends thought I died. FML
Today, to give the illusion that I have friends, I wrote an outrageous status on Facebook, and then pretended it was the result of a friend hacking my page, all in the hope that it would get comments, likes, or at least some attention. Nothing happened. FML
Today, on Facebook, someone wrote a status implying that she was going to kill herself. I called a mutual friend, asking to check up on her. The next status the girl puts up said, "Someone thought I was going to commit suicide! Haha what a loser!" FML
Today, I decided it would be pretty amusing to press the "Like" button on everyone's status on Facebook without reading them just to get on peoples' nerves. After re-reading them later, I found out one of them said "I MISS YOU SOO MUCH GRANDMOM. RIP". I liked that her grandmother died. FML
Today, my friend thought it would be funny to hack my Facebook and "like" everybody's statuses. This includes my boyfriend's about his grandmother dying. FML
Today, I added the wrong reaction to a Facebook post, using the laughing smiley instead of the hug, and only noticed two hours later, when my friend wouldn't talk to me because she thought I like found the fact that her dog died funny. FML
Today, my friends created a fake Facebook profile of a girl, and asked me to be in a relationship. Even my friends think I can't get a real girlfriend, and need a fake one to feel better. FML
Today, some assface hacked my recently deceased friend's Facebook account. The person changed my friend's location to "Hell", then posted a status saying how hot the weather was, and replied "I wish :'(" to someone who'd said my friend was in a better place now. FML
Today, a friend posted the Facebook status "Ahhh... relief." Trying to be funny, I replied "Why? Did you just poop?" A few hours later, I read her previous posts and found out her dad's in the hospital having heart surgery. Now everyone thinks I'm a heartless dick. FML

They actually seem about on par for average friends. I mean, I'm the kind of person that would write that post, and most of the people I know would have found it funny. Assuming everyone has a similar sense of humor it seems like a normal thing. If Op got legitimately upset by the post then the friends could easily just apologize and explain the joke.

Well people don't have a similar sense of humour. It's not funny wishing death on someone else. Maybe the RIP page could've been funny to an extent but the post definitely was not.

I meant more along the lines of all of Ops friends, including the Op. if all of them had similar senses of humor then the type of joke would be normal. And even if their sense of humor is different all he has to do is explain it wasn't funny, and then hopefully they apologize. All I'm saying is that the Facebook page and posts doesn't necessarily make them bad friends.

That's what I just said (I probably should have read your post beforehand.) If they tease and insult each other like this as part of their friendship than it would okay to post that comment, OP could laugh and post an even better comeback. Otherwise, that's a pretty nasty thing to post about someone. The friend faking OP's death however, is pretty low either way.

One reason it could have gotten so many likes is because they knew OP was obviously not dead and they were annoyed OP made that (because it's low to joke about dying) so maybe they decided to say something low in return? Not saying its justified but maybe that's the case.
