Today, I went to see my boyfriend with the intention of breaking up with him. Instead I discovered that he lost his job today and has to move back in with his parents. I can't bring myself to dump someone who's already crying about his horrible day. Now I have to comfort my soon-to-be ex. FML

Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I had only been dating him for about a month. Thinking he wouldn't take it very hard, I invited him over so I could tell him in person. Little did I know he was going to start crying on my couch and not leave for 5 hours. FML
Today, I was dumped. My boyfriend was too afraid to break up with me, so he sent the girl he cheated on me with. FML
Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I found out he was seeing someone behind my back: my ex-boyfriend. FML
Today, I was making out with my boyfriend. When we took a break and went downstairs, he checked the mail. He had received a letter from his ex-girlfriend, which he opened in front of me. He then began sobbing on my shoulder and broke up with me. He still had to drive me home. FML
Today, I went to my boyfriend's apartment to break up with him since he's always busy, and I haven't seen or spoke to him in almost 2 months. I arrived to find out from his landlord that he'd moved out 3 weeks ago, leaving a note saying that we were over. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, right after I turned down an amazing job opportunity in another location, just so I could be with him. FML
Today, my ex-boyfriend called my parents to let them know I broke up with him. He was sobbing. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me. While he was dumping me, he was holding hands with his new girlfriend. FML
Today, my boyfriend called me in tears because the love of his life has decided to move on with another man. He is currently on his way over to cry on my shoulder about it. FML
Today, I'd been getting ready to hear my boyfriend's proposal, as his friends had told me he'd talked to them about planning it. He showed up at my house out of the blue… to tell me he's breaking up with me, only to find out he proposed to his ex hours later. FML

My advice, throw him a pity ****, make him feel better for the moment, then on your way out the door say, "Sorry, but it's over" and keep on walking. Hanging onto this poor schmuck will only give him false hope about the future. Better he learns now and deals with everything all at once and gets his shit together. You really want to hold on to him unitl he finds a job, then crush him again? Have a heart - **** his brains out, then let it die.

Yeeeeaaaahhhh. I kinda agree with most of the post. Not the pity **** part though. And not the staying with him till he betters himself. That's just going to make him feel there's a future between you two through thick and thin when it looks like you don't see that. Stringing along a guy like that is not fair to him and you. Though life is hard. We have to stand up when it throws us down. He has to learn that if he hasn't yet.
