Sex ed failed a generation
Today, my 16-year-old cousin told me she was "late." When I asked if she could be pregnant, she said no, because, "You can't get pregnant the first time you have sex." I ended up having to give her the sex talk. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I overheard my daughter talking to her boyfriend over the phone about having sex. She said, "You have to piss on me to get me pregnant, that's what I heard anyway." She's 16. FML
Today, we found out that my 13-year-old cousin is pregnant. My mom then turned to me and asked why I decided to wait so long. I’m only 20. Instead of being worried that this young girl has potentially ruined her entire life, my mom just complained that her sister "gets to be a grandma first." FML
Today, I sat down with my daughter to have the sex talk, because she recently started seeing a guy. I mentioned at one point how disappointed I would be if she got pregnant. She went wide-eyed and asked, "Didn't mom tell you?" FML
Today, I asked my friend what form of birth control she used the first time she had sex. She stared at me like I was from another planet and said, "You can't get pregnant the first time..." This moron is my best friend. FML
Today, my 19-year-old son told me his girlfriend is pregnant, and was diagnosed with an STD. He's sure that he's the father. He's also sure he doesn't have an STD, because he's a virgin. I had to give him the sex talk that his school never did, as well as explain to him that his girlfriend is a cheater. FML
Today, I got punched after telling my 11-year-old cousin that her period is "coming for her." FML
Today, my 15-year-old birth daughter asked if I've ever had sex. FML
Today, my 14 year old daughter told me she's pregnant. I work as a public speaker for promoting celibacy and safe sex. FML
Today, my youngest, the 17 year-old, told me she’s pregnant. That makes it official: despite all my warnings about safe sex, all three of my daughters got pregnant before the age of 18. FML
Today, at a family gathering, my aunt asked me when I was planning to have children. I'm only 16, I laughed and said not for a while, definitely not until I get married. My family shook their heads, and ignored me for the rest of the day. Apparently, teenage pregnancy is valued in my family. FML

They are closely linked. More than likely her parents only told her no sex till marriage.

Why? You’re just closing the barn door after the horse has left.

Is this happening in the US? Because honestly, you know how shitty sex education is in this so puritan yet extreme country...

How is it the kid is that clueless ? Doesn’t mean the parents didn’t try but common sense has to come into play. You can’t say you don’t know. This kid obviously can’t manage basic science

Planned Parenthood will make an appointment to check if she's pregnant or if this is normal. Please CALL THEM AND ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT. Because at 16, it's a crapshoot, and pregnancy tests may or may not even be reliable with this--your hormones don't really settle down until your mid-twenties.
