Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I'm living with my now ex-girlfriend of 9 years in the house we bought together. What's worse than that is the fact that 2 weeks before she told me she was unhappy and ended it, I had bought an engagement ring. I didn't get the chance to ask, and had to return the ring. FML
Today, I just bought my own house after divorcing my wife of 30 years. We'd been childless by her choice, and as I stood in my new living room, looking at the emptiness, I couldn’t help the feeling I just bought a 2-storey, £125,000 coffin that I’ll one day die alone and be buried in. FML
Today, my ex-girlfriend got married to a man she met last year. She left me after 8 years together because I told her I wanted to have fun and live my life, and wasn’t ready for marriage. Three years later, I’m not having fun at all. None of my bros wanna make plans because they’d rather be with their wives and kids. FML
Today, I realized my marriage makes me feel like I'm just passing time until death. FML
Today, I've never been so lonely nor felt so romantically neglected as when I got married. FML
Today, I realised what kind of man I married when I finally shelved his book, "Getting Things Done", still untouched 3 months after buying it. FML
Today, my wife of four years confessed to me that she only married me for the money. FML
Today, I almost got married. After the elaborate and very expensive wedding, my "husband" decided he did not want to sign the marriage license because he wasn't sure if he really wanted to settle down after all. FML
Today, I woke up realizing my wife of less than a year of marriage wants a divorce. We have known each other for 15 years. FML
Today, I found out my husband of one year has been renting his old batchelor's apartment in secret, because he is unsure if he wants to stay married to me, and we are broke. FML

Every situation is different… Remember that for about 1 1/2 years we have all been living through a pandemic. That brought added stress, worry, and sometimes more time with our family. We all need time to ourselves from time to time to be healthy. Try to figure out if this is a result of pandemic stress that will change in a year or so or if it’s a basic incompatibility that’s not going to get better. I have been through divorce. Regardless of if you are the one initiating the change or not; there will be many changes if you go down this path - some positive if you were in a bad situation and some emotionally painful. Think it through carefully before doing or saying anything you cannot take back. Know your options and be realistic financially. Then decide what you are going to do.

I think every married person goes through this at some point. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Know if its long term incompatibility or short term frustration before going forward with something you can't take back.

You're not the first and not the last person who has had those thoughts, but people has managed to live through it before. I wish you the best of luck!
