Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my husband has been super happy for the last 11 weeks, as he's been able to tell me what to do, when to do it and how to do it. Now I'm allowed to start work again, he's gone back to being super shitty. FML
Today, I contemplated leaving my husband because his best friend is overbearing and doesn't respect the boundaries of our relationship, all while talking bad about me to him. FML
Today, my husband just told me that he no longer loves me but keeps me around to handle his finances. FML
Today, I tried to talk to my soon-to-be-husband about how he needs to take a more active approach in his own life. It devolved to him screaming at me and putting words in my mouth. This has been going on for six months. FML
Today, I realized I'm trapped. I might be heading into an abusive relationship that I won't be able to escape, but I can't leave because then I'd break his heart and I love him too much for that. FML
Today, I realized how toxic and controlling my wife is. She left to go on a vacation, and I'm so used to her micromanaging everything I do that I'm completely unable to function. I tried to play a video game and had a panic attack because I imagined her walking in and screaming at me. FML
Today, I finally got the courage to leave my controlling and manipulative ex. He took it well. And by "took it well", I mean he camped out my doorstep, held some of my belongings hostage, and tried to blackmail me into staying with him. FML
Today, I could easily be any man's dream wife. I'm pretty, smart, devoted, earn well, cook great, keep a clean house, and raise amazing children… but I chose to marry an asshole who keeps hitting me for little to no reason. I'm too scared to raise my kids on my own in this world, or else I would leave. FML
Today, the most manipulative man I know decided he's going to get me to be his next wife. I'm still in therapy after breaking free from growing up in a violent and manipulative household. He's working with me, so there's limited options of getting out of his presence. I'm scared for my sanity and my freedom. FML
Today, I realized I'm happier and life is better when my husband isn't around. He isn't abusive, just lazy and uninvolved. We have young kids and I don't know how to leave him. FML

do not listen to any negative comments. you are not a pussy. ten years of control can be hell on your mental and emotional health. try finding a place where you can hide cash and put away a little every week. in the meantime, if you can find some free therapy groups, online groups if you can't find an excuse to get out of the house. build up your strength and $, and when you're ready, you can get out. good luck, hope this helps.

The first step is realizing it. now the next step, how are you going to give yourself strength?

Well, has he been doing a good job of it? If he's making good decisions, then that's less you have to worry about.

This is the opposite of unpleasantness. Letting other people control things can be freeing if they are good at it.

Abuse is never okay, no matter the circumstance and living in a consistently abusive environment can really do a number on your mental health. You ARE worth so much more than this.

some countries have women houses where you can seek refuge from men :)

If you’re too scared and can’t find your confidence, just look for hatred. Hate him enough to leave.

If you’re too scared or can’t find your confidence or whatever it is, just find your hatred. Realise the pain and hate that man with all your being until you want to squish him like and insect. And then get the f*** out.
