Thanksgiving
Questions about your love life, a burnt turkey and the cousin who knows everything: Thanksgiving, a contact sport.
Today, I finally got my car back after it was in the auto shop for a week. On my way home, I started swerving all over the road. It turns out they didn't tighten the lug nuts on one of my wheels properly. FML
Today, I drove through a drive-through car wash. The steering wheel turned left on it own. I was pretty sure the railing guided the car but my stupid ass turned the wheel to the other side and popped the car off the rails. It crashed into one of the machines and now I have a huge dent to the front of the car. FML
Today, I watched my car roll backwards on the freeway, while attached to the tow truck that I was sitting in. FML
Today, I came back from a 700-mile round trip. I hit a massive pothole I couldn't avoid and blew out a tire and bent my rim. I was less than a mile from my house. FML
Today, I got into a car crash, in my own garage. FML
Today, I went to the bookstore. While I was in line, I heard everyone talking about how a book cart had gotten loose and rolled down the parking lot into a car, smashing the front. It was my car. FML
Today, my car was broken into. What was stolen? My steering wheel. FML
Today, I managed to run over my own foot with my own car. FML
Today, after getting my car completely fixed after it being damaged for a year, I was driving and the entire side panel on the car fell off. The repair man forgot to put the screws back in. FML
Today, I had the lovely experience of witnessing a tow truck cause a couple thousand dollars' worth of damage to my broken-down car. FML

that's why we get insurance, for those times when life just decides "**** you, and your car, and their car just for good measure."

Waiting for the follow-up FML "Today, I was about to get in my parked car when another car crashed into it, then for good measure a wheel hit me. I was on my way to a job interview. FML"

It could have been worse -- your wheel could have figuratively flown off your car.

if your car was properly maintained this wouldn't have happened. you car had no business being on the road, and the signs of failure were likely ignored until "it literally flew off"

I actually saw this happen on a car I was behind. It was surreal. The front left wheel flew off, bounced into the opposite lane and nearly take out a pedestrian.
