Today, there's a campaign in my country advertising natural dog food. Apparently, nobody amongst the creators speaks English. How do I know? The hashtag they came up with is #SimplyBarf. FML

Today, I was flipping through a magazine and saw an ad that had the line "No corn, no wheat, no soy", all of which I'm severely allergic to. I got so excited at the prospect of having a food I could eat, I fell out of my chair. I then realized it was an ad for dog food. FML
Today, I saw a commercial for some sort of meaty beef dish. The camera zoomed in and my mouth watered because it looked so delicious. Then flashed the next scene: Golden Retrievers running through a field, then eating from their bowl. My mouth just watered for a dog food commercial. FML
Today, I was so hungry that my mouth started watering during a dog food commercial. FML
Today, I got my dog some weight loss formula food, as she is very overweight. This new food makes her have horrible gas. FML
Today, I got a call from my daughter's school. Apparently, she was learning about the food pyramid and when she was asked to identify what she had eaten the day before, she said "dog food". FML
Today, I was having dinner at my aunt's house who just migrated to Germany from India and doesn't know any German. I asked for the recipe of a dish and she said that she has been buying these cans with cute kitty picture and just adds spices to it. Cat food is delicious I must admit. FML
Today, my dog won’t eat the premium $30 per kilo food I buy him, but he will eat other dog’s shit. FML
Today, on the kitchen counter, there was a plate that had snacks on it. I decided to take a bite. I spat it out. Later on, my mother told me it was dog food. FML
Today, I bought a new cannister and it came with a label that said "Cookies" so I carefully scanned and photoshopped it to say "Coffee". Then I opened the cannister to find 11 double-sided bilingual labels -- including "Coffee". FML
Today, I spent all day baking dog-safe cookies for my pup's birthday. He sniffed them, turned around, and started begging for one of MY processed garbage cookies from a store instead. FML

B.A.R.F. is just short for "Biologically Appropriate Raw Food", which is just a homemade diet for dogs consisting of raw meats, organs, bones, and veggies combined in a ratio of 80/10/5/5. It sounds gross, but it's a good alternative to kibble or canned food by far!

It's an awful alternative with risks of salmonella infection and other digestive infection or intoxication, also obstruction not to mention it's generally not well balanced. Do not believe everything you read that says "it's natural" and ask actual medical practitioners or, even better, read scientific publications...

I've been feeding my dog a B.A.R.F. diet for almost 4 years with no issues at all whatsoever. In fact, his appetite improved, his weekly diarrhea episodes he used to have when on kibble stopped, his ear infections stopped, and he's been in great shape even at 8 years old. People mistake him for a 2-3 year old. I made sure to research as much as possible before switching him, and rotate his diet with homemade and prepackaged raw food. You ought to research it too rather than only listen to people fear-mongering about e-coli and salmonella, which is only a concern if you don't clean up after yourself. If you prepare your dog's food and wash all dishes and surfaces like you would when preparing your own food, you shouldn't be catching anything. Look into the diet itself, and you'll find that there's endless sources of scientific information on the benefits of B.A.R.F. as opposed to kibble or canned foods.
