Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, when I arrived at work, I was greeted by my gorgeous coworker telling me my red shirt looked awesome on me. Before I could compliment her, she added that the color was fitting perfectly with my acne. I heard a couple of giggles around me. FML
Today, I bought a new shirt I thought looked cool. At work, three people complimented me, then each one added a variation of, “My dad has the same one!” By lunch, my confidence had left the building entirely. A coworker even asked if I’d gotten it from the “retro section.” FML
Today, I was carrying some bags out of a store, and my shirt had scooted up a little. I had no free hands, so I ignored it. A woman stopped me to tell me that bare midriffs are only attractive on skinny girls, "not fat ones." I'm 6 months pregnant. FML
Today, I wore a new shirt I was really pleased to have bought. As soon as I put it on, I noticed it was a bit tight, but I thought it would stretch out. By the end of the day, I looked like I was wearing a sausage casing. My coworkers couldn’t stop laughing. FML
Today, I greeted my boss with, "Looking good, did you lose weight?" He responded that no, he'd just purchased larger pants. FML
Today, was my first day at a new job. I was really pleased with how much positive attention I was getting in a mainly male office. Guess whose shirt was see-through. FML
Today, I was the first one to wear the ugly corporate shirts we received. The people in my office, all of them guys, were all saying that it looked a lot better than they thought it would. Later that day I went to the toilet and saw that the shirt gapes open in front and you could see my boobs. FML
Today, I was at work when a cute guy came up to me and said he liked my shirt. In a desperate attempt to say something back, I said, "Thanks, I like your shoelaces." FML
Today, I decided to come out to a co-worker. She looked at me, then laughed, and said, "You can't be gay, you're fat!" FML
Today, after weeks of everyone at work avoiding me, I finally asked my coworker what was up. She informed me, “You’re 350lbs and try to dress like an office siren, it’s pathetic to look at.” FML

#6 I'm 5'9'' and weigh 140lbs. The STRIPED shirt I'm wearing right now doesn't make me look anything like a baby hippo. Perhaps you should have qualified your statement somewhat?!

@ Skinnydude, like lady said, being skinnier is not being healthier. By the way you said you like being skinny, too bad most girls I know don't like stick figure men. Women like a man she can wrap her arms around, not a guy that she is afraid of snapping in half.

Horizontal stripes make you look fat because it "stretches" out the image. Vertical stripes emphasize the straightness and the height (up-down) of an object, so it's skinnier. Draw 2 squares and fill one with 4 evenly spaced horizontal lines, and the other square with 4 evenly spaced vertical lines. Which square looks longer? They're both the same size, but the vertical one looks longer because you see the rectangles inside as "elongated" up and down. Anywayyy. Fat and skinny are BOTH words with bad connotations. Fat = too high of a BMI = overweight and you can have high cholestrol and all that nasty stuff. Skinny = too low of a BMI = underweight and you have too less of nutrients and you can't even function properly. In both conditions, you can't function properly due to lack of nutrients or too much of fat clogging up your arteries and things. Slim is the best choice because you have an ideal BMI, meaning your muscle/fat ratio is healthy and you have enough fat to develop body parts, along with enough muscle to do your daily activities. Nobody wants a chunk of lard or a bag of sticks. Anyway! @FMLer: How rude of them to say that. They could just be saying fat people in general, but that sentence is too loaded in the insulting-fat-people side, so. Hope karma hits him in the face and breaks his nose :D

#11: Heart disease is one of the world's leading causes of death, anorexia is not (though that's not to say it can't cause heart failure.) Try paying attention to current events and the like. @ OP: as a former overweight person, I find your coworker's comment ridiculous and offensive. You shouldn't have to put up with that.
