Today, my fiancé called off our engagement because I told him, "I've had fun, now I want to settle down in life." According to him, our marriage should be our fun. I have no idea what he's talking about. Yeah, mortgages and babies are such fun. Idiot. FML

Today, my fiancé of two years told me he was bored of me and he'd just prolonged the engagement to see if anyone more interesting would come along in the mean time. He was upset because no one did. FML

Today, my fiancé told me that he was having second thoughts on our engagement. Instead of just calling it off, he took me to a fancy restaurant and took a public poll on whether we should get married. The majority said no. FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend to marry me. She said no because she doesn't want to be tied down for the rest of her life. We already have 3 children, a mortgage, and joint bank accounts. How much more tied down could we possibly get? FML
Today, I almost got married. After the elaborate and very expensive wedding, my "husband" decided he did not want to sign the marriage license because he wasn't sure if he really wanted to settle down after all. FML
Today, my fiancée handed me her engagement ring back and told me she felt like she's pressuring me into marriage, so to make me feel better about it we’re no longer engaged. On top of this, I found out she’s started talking to her ex again. FML
Today, my fiancée called off our wedding out of the blue. After a long discussion about it, it turns out that last week I voiced an opinion about the wedding she didn’t agree with, and doesn’t want to spend her life married to someone who’s going to argue with her every five minutes. FML

Yeah, I can see why the poor guy ran. You don’t sound like you want to get married or start a family. All I can see is you, 20 years in the future, blaming him for your boring life and resenting the kids for stealing your youth. If you want to stay single and childless, just say so up front.

You sound like an immature bratty airheaded teenager. I wouldn't marry you either. If you don't want babies, don't have any. Mortgage and/or rent will be necessary to live, but will not consume your life. So there's plenty of time for fun, however you might define it.

If you can't figure out how to settle down and also have fun, that's on you. My wife and I have plenty of fun. And if someone said they wanted to marry me but didn't plan on having any fun, I wouldn't do it. Maybe do some hard thinking about what you want out of life and if you want someone to share that with you or not, because right now, you sound better off alone.
