Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my wife said I was being difficult and unreasonable, and called my mother to talk to me about my behaviour. What did I do, you ask? I dared to share my opinion on something I happen to feel strongly about, instead of just mindlessly agreeing with her opinion like I have for the past 22 years. FML
Today, someone asked my wife if I was her father. FML
Today, my wife screamed, cried, called me lazy and a bad parent, and threatened to leave and take our four kids. All I did was ask for an hour to myself every day for some private time. FML
Today, my daughter came over, furiously ranting that her husband had asked for a divorce. During the conversation, I asked what she did to make him happy. She glared at me and yelled, "It's not my job to make my husband happy!" I'm on her husband's side after that. FML
Today, I went to a family counseling session because my parents are getting a divorce. I told the counselor that I feel guilty because I feel like I caused it. She says that there is no way I could have caused it, that it's my parents' problem when my mom interrupts her to say, "Yes she did." FML
Today, I went to family therapy because my mom wanted the family to be closer. When asked what her biggest disappointment was in life, she turned to me and said, "Having a gay son" then patted my hand, smiled, and said "No offense, honey." FML
Today, my parents tried to convince me to get a divorce. My wife and I are perfectly fine. FML
Today, I was telling my kids off for some misbehaviour when my wife chimed in that in all honestly, they were just behaving like I do most days. I had zero defence to that because it’s true. I've now got a wife and three kids who won’t stop mocking me FML
Today, my awful future daughter-in-law went off on me and said that I'm just jealous that she's marrying my son and I'm not. Furious, I told my husband, expecting him to side with me, but all he said was, "Well… are you?" FML
Today, both of my daughters were having an argument because my youngest has decided that she doesn't want kids. I defended her decision and my oldest daughter told me to STFU and called me a hypocrite. I slapped her across the face for her disrespect and now she's threatening to press charges. FML

I guess now you know you have some things to work on... that's not a bad thing. It's all about communication at this point. I wish you the best though OP.

Sometimes one's perception of who you are is different to what others perceive you as. Hope OP uses this to get to learn himself better to see why others think the way they do and actively changes his behavior into a positive outcome. It's easy to feel sorry for yourself. Nothing in life is easy though, takes hard work. Good luck!

That sucks! But considering you were outvoted 4:1 you probably deserved it too...

I would have given the same response if it was my family.

That must have hurt to hear, but keep in mind that family therapy won't work unless people are honest. If you're not doing enough as a husband and father, you need to know that so you can start to work on it. Tell your family how you feel as well and you can all work through this together.

If you work and your wife stays at home, then they shouldn't be complaining.

Sure sure, no matter what. If he beats her and his children, neglects them, cheats, is an alcoholic, calls her terrible names, is a gambler, a shopaholic, treats her crudely and without respect (in public too), etc... that is just not a good reason for a stay-at-home mother to complain. Of course she should be grateful, and just ignore any of the myriad of failings he might have. And lets just not mention that couples usually make the decision to have a stay-at-home parent together, so he most likely encouraged her to stay-at-home and agreed with the situation.
