Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, someone who lives off the government stated that all I do as a front line nurse is wipe arses, and that I know nothing about Covid because I'm not a doctor. He refuses to get the vaccine as well. FML
Today, one of my closest friends is an antivaxxer. Neither I nor my family are guaranteed to survive Covid, even though we are vaccinated, and I just can't understand why she will not get the jab when she knows so many people have died from Covid, while only a handful have died from the vax DUE TO COMPLICATIONS, and now she may hate me. FML
Today, my sister-in-law is refusing to let me or my children be a part of her kids' lives. She’s even going as far as trying to make my brother stop speaking to us as well. Why? Simply because I'm an atheist. FML
Today, I have a friend who has consumed almost every known drug in our country, but refuses to get the Covid vaccine, claiming that, "it contains the 5G, and I won't let them control me." FML
Today, my rabidly pro-life friend has been touting off about, “My body, my choice” because of the proposed vaccine mandates. When I reminded her that she’s always been against women making choices about their bodies, she screamed I was a murdering, commie bitch. Thanks, friend. FML
Today, I got a call from my brother-in-law's doctor. Apparently he's made threats and fantasizes about killing me. "Notifying you is the protocol for things like this" he said, and ended the conversation with, "have a nice day." FML
Today, my sister has been going on and on about how sexy her new doctor is. She’s been plotting to fake an illness just to see him again. When I explained that doctors are professionals and even if he were interested it would be unethical for him to say so, she called me a fat, jealous loser. FML
Today, we had the cops called on us because my son was panicking so much about his first COVID jab, his older sister got fed up, took him outside, put him in a headlock and choked him unconscious so the nurse could jab him. Instead, the nurse called the cops. FML
Today i had a patient come into the practice six times to ask about vaccines they've had. Apparently, their "doctor" friend (with a PHD in arts) is a more reliable source of information than trained medical staff telling them, "Yes, that is in that group of vaccines" with a vaccine leaflet, and a head nurse explaining it all. FML
Today, I learned I’m shooting blanks and can’t have children. My wife’s response was that her brother can be our sperm donor. She has no issue with this. FML

That's reasonable for both you and your doctor. For one of the 2 vaccines, anaphylaxis is a significant concern to the point where it's not recommended for people with a history of anaphylaxis from vaccines (or possibly in general - I'm not a doctor). There is a major difference between legitimate medical counterindications in consultation with a doctor, and gut instinct and wild rumors without evidence. The fact that everyone can't get the vaccine is part of why it's so important for those who can to get the vaccines that are available.

Not disrespecting nurses, because holy hell they're amazing!! But a nurse isn't a scientist or the CDC. Personal beliefs and false diagnosis' to create fear do not belong in medicine.

My wife works at the hospital and has her vaccine scheduled this week, but a significant number of coworkers don't want it, even though they're on the front lines due to similar false anti-vax beliefs, or simply wanting to wait and see how their coworkers do with it. Notably though, the doctors are pretty much universally on board and trying to get it as soon as a spot is available.

That's true, Ive had issues getting it up after having covid in February last year. This can be solved with viagra though so not much of an issue. Just keep rolling with the punches

I don’t want it because my DOCTOR is concerned that I could have an anaphylactic reaction to it and die, as I live in a small town with a tiny hospital that can’t even supply a matching pair of crutches, (one was for 6’6 person one was for a child). There is precedent for this concern as last time I had the whooping cough vaccine I stopped breathing multiple times, and that was in a large town with multiple hospitals etc.

Maybe your brother in law is just an asshole and she's hoping he will catch it and be removed from the human gene pool system.
