Today, my son was having a hard time mentally, and asked my wife if she loved him as much as she loved her biological children. She straight up told him not to be stupid, because of course she doesn’t love a step-kid as much as she loves her "real kids." FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I kissed my husband and said, "I love you." That's when our 5 year-old son said to my husband, "How can you love her so much if she's so ugly?" FML
Today, I overheard my son tell his dad that he’s in love. Without pause, my husband told him it’s temporary, it won’t last, relationships are pointless, women only cause grief, and money in the bank keeps a man warm at night better than any woman with cold feet. I’m trying not to feel insulted. FML
Today, I asked my wife for a divorce because her kids hate my son and are horrible to him because they don't like that he has a dad and they don't. She's my soulmate and the love of my life, but I can't do this to him anymore. FML
Today, I let my step-father know exactly what I thought of him. After a few moments of awkward silence, he leaned towards me and quietly whispered, "Well you're adopted. Your parents never loved you." FML
Today, I kind of wished I'd never become a stepmom. I didn't know what I was getting into. When one of the kids' moms stops making life hard, the other picks up. I love the kids with all my heart, but it's starting to hurt me. I can't give 100% because I'm reminded I'm "not their real mom." FML
Today I've come to the realization that I prefer my stepson over my biological son. My stepson is an amazing kid while my biological is in prison for drugs. My ex-wife completely spoiled him rotten and everything despite all my efforts. FML.
Today, my wife admitted she loves me as a father to our children, but is no longer attracted to me. FML
Today, within one day of meeting me, my stepmom decided to break up with my dad. Her reason being, "I love you, but I just can’t put up with the kid." I’m 'the kid'. I’m 28 years-old. FML
Today, I asked my 2-year-old if he loved me. His response? “No mama, stop.” FML
Today, I was watching TV with my husband and my 5-year-old son. Everything was going fine until my son asked his father, “Why can’t mom know that you have another sweetheart?” FML

what an insensitive woman. I am sorry for your son ☹️ I have been blessed with a stepfather that never made me or my sister feel like we were any less his daughters than his biological ones. I have only ever had a step son, I have no biological children, but I cannot imagine loving anyone "more" than I love that boy.

I mean, that's a super ******* insensitive answer to the world's worst question (up there with, which one of us is your favourite?), and she definitely shouldn't have answered it like that, but... how old is your son, how long have you been married to your wife? If he's an older teen and you've only been married briefly, it's unlikely she's bonded with him as much as she has with any kids that hers biologically. Doesn't excuse the way she answered though, and that definitely calls not just for a talk with her, but probably professional talk with all three of you.
