Today, I went to pick up my little brother from his friend's house. When I got there, he ran off screaming that he didn't know me. His friend's parents believed him. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I went to drop my little brother off at the nursery. As I walked in, a boy punched me in the dick and ran away. FML
Today, I had to take my little brother to the pool. He acted like a brat the whole time, and when I told him we were leaving, he ran away, slipped, and hit his face on the tile floor. He told my dad and step-mom I punched him. They believed him, and I'm grounded for two months. FML
Today, I was at the mall with my little brother. I saw him touching some expensive objects, so I slapped his arm. I noticed he wasn't my brother when he started crying and his real mom slapped me in the face. FML
Today, my little brother came into my room and hit me over the head with his baseball bat. He then dropped the bat onto my floor and ran crying into my mother's room proclaiming I stole his bat and beat him with it for fun. FML
Today, I got a call from a girl I know, asking if I could babysit her little brother at my house tonight. I said yes. When the boy came over, he mentioned that his sister was having a party and didn't want him there. Turns out all my friends were invited except me. FML
Today, I found out that while I was on vacation my neighbor had let my brother into my apartment. I don't have a brother. FML
Today, when I went to pick my kid up from daycare, I found out that he had run away. The rest of my afternoon consisted of me screaming his name, looking for him. I then returned to the daycare center. He thought it would be funny if he hid in the trash. FML
Today, I had to call a few different women and explain to them that my little brother had catfished them. I had to do it because he is mute and my parents were too busy screaming at him. FML
Today, my brother and I got in a fight and he told my friends that I am mentally disabled. They believed him. Apparently, "everything makes sense now." FML
Today, I was walking down the street and I saw my brother on the other side of the road. He lives overseas and always told me he would visit when I least expected it. When I saw him, I got so excited I jumped on his back, screaming his name. It wasn't my brother. FML

As the second oldest of 6, I can confirm that not all families look alike. All my sisters are the spitting image of each other, but my 2 brothers and I all look totally different from each other and our sisters. Assuming OP's brother isn't a half/step brother, the chances of them looking alike enough for another mother to recognize him/her as a trusted sibling is slim

Rainhawk - No, there is most certainly NOT always a resemblance. Sharing 25% of your genes does not guarantee that you will look anything like your siblings. Many siblings look nothing alike.

Rainhawk Fullblood siblings can look nothing alike. My friends used to think my older brother was my boyfriend when he came home to visit (8yrs older than me), which was just...horrifyingly creepy to me. My older sister used to be able to get away with telling her friends that I was adopted, simply because we didn't look alike. Genetics is funny in how they mix to create each individual from the same parents.

I have two half brothers, one on my mom's side and one on my dad's, and I look nothing like either. Plus, my friend and her brother have the same biological parents. My friend is the spitting image of her ginger father, and her brother looks exactly like his brunette mother. They look nothing alike.

My best friend has a brother only a year younger than her. She has brown hair, he's blonde. She has pale skin and freckles, and he's tan. The only thing they share is the same eye colour. People think her brother and I are siblings. Not all siblings look the same, making it easier for OP's sibling to get away with it.

Yeah, I'm guessing there's not a lot that could be done, but one would think the parents would know the name of the person who is picking up their child's friend, even if they've never met the parents. Granted, when I was a kid parents had to meet before I would have been allowed to go to the house, so.
