Just say no

Wild Nights Out
Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Today, my boyfriend said he wants a poly relationship. He said he wants to sleep with other people, but I can't in case I get feelings for them. Thats not what poly means, dude. FML
Today, my boyfriend of four years proposed to me and I said yes. A few hours later, I found out he's been talking to multiple other girls for about three months. FML
Today, after much thought and serious consideration, I nervously admitted to my boyfriend that I'm bisexual. The first thing that he said in response was: "Want a threesome?" FML
Today, I met up with a couple I know, who wanted to introduce me to someone. I thought they were setting me up with her, but no. They were coming out as polyamorous, and she was their new girlfriend. FML
Today, after what I thought was several weeks of flirting with a coworker, I asked her out on a date. She asked if it could be a double date, and I said yes. I brought a friend, she brought her husband. FML
Today, I caught my boyfriend cheating again. Not wanting to lose him, I suggested we try opening our relationship and being poly. He flew into a rage and swore I was just trying to think of an excuse to get back at him by screwing a bunch of randos. I can’t win. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he wants to date other people, but still wants to be with me. He said, “Yes I want to be with you, but maybe we can both find better.” I found out he’s been texting another woman. FML
Today, my polyamorous friend has 3 boyfriends. My other polyamorous friend has 2 boyfriends and my other other polyamorous friend has a girlfriend and a boyfriend. I'm still single. FML
Today, I made the mistake of telling my boyfriend that I once fooled around innocently with another girl. He’s now trying to force me to "explore my bisexuality". Not because he thinks it’s a healthy expression, but he thinks it’s "hot" and wants to set up threesomes. FML
Today, I found out that the love of my life had been pleasuring himself to pictures of my ex-boyfriends. Yes, he's bisexual. He says it's ok because I'm dating him now. Great. FML

You are indeed a pushover. If you're not fine with a poly relationship, you should tell your boyfriend. That being said, there's a pretty good chance that your boyfriend realizes that you're not really comfortable with the idea but still made you agree to it, which doesn't exactly scream of "caring for one's partner". Of course, he might legitimately be oblivious to your discomfort, but unless you're a pretty good actor, it must have shown when you had the conversation. And take some distances with the "friend". They likely knew you had an exclusive relationship and still made a move on your boyfriend. Not cool.

if you are not at all comfortable with the idea, you have every right to tell him no. when done properly, it's an extremely rewarding lifestyle that meets your needs and wants more than monogamy. it does take some getting used to. but it's not for everyone. I have 2 boyfriends, 1 of which is married, and she has a boyfriend. and none of us have ever been happier. if you're otherwise happy with this man, it's worth at least researching to see if it catches your interest. but if he's not good to you otherwise, throw the whole damn man away
