Did your boss give you a reason why you can't quit? cause that's the first time I saw someone being prevented to quit from their boss.. other than the cliché "you can't quit cause YOU'RE FIRED!"

I thought it was "You can't fire me, I quit." Anyway, if I tried to quit and my boss said I can't quit because I'm fired, I'd say either "You can't fire me, I already quit," or "You can't fire me, I don't work here anymore."
