Today, I bought my boyfriend two concert tickets (of our favorite band) for his birthday. I was expecting him to bring me since I gave them to him and I like the band too. He said, "Sweet, thanks, I'll call my friend now and see if he wants to go. Think you could give us a ride?" FML

Today, I went to a concert with a friend of mine. When his dad came to pick him up, I walked towards the car, expecting a ride. His dad told me he didn't have time to drive me home. I'm his neighbour. FML
Today, I gave my boyfriend our festival tickets to keep hold of while I excitedly went home to get ready. He took someone else. FML
Today, my boyfriend bought me Kings of Leon tickets for my birthday. Since he thought I was irresponsible, he gave the tickets to his mum so I wouldn't lose them. The show is today, and we can't find the tickets. FML
Today, my boyfriend wanted to take me out on a date. He doesn't have a car, but he said he'd borrow transport from his neighbor. He showed up at my house on a ride-on lawn mower. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were driving around town in his car. To my surprise he took me out to lunch. As we were leaving, a girl walks up and asks if he had room for one more for a ride, sadly he only has two seats in his car. Guess who had to walk! FML
Today, I spent hundreds of pounds buying my best friend concert tickets to see our favourite band, complete with a meet and greet. I drove over very excited to pick her up to take her. She had already left. With her boyfriend. FML
Today, I was telling my co-workers about how I'd gotten tickets to a concert in a few days. My boss overheard. Later, he told me I now have to work on the night of the concert. However, he was kind enough to offer to buy the tickets off me for half of what I'd paid for them. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My boyfriend told me he was too busy studying for finals, but that he'd take me out another day instead. He later drunk-dialled me from a party demanding a lift back home. FML
Today, my boyfriend asked me to go to a car show. I told him to hold on, I had to ask my mom. I quietly asked her to say no for me. She said "Sure!". FML

Communication is one of the main parts of a good relationship. You should have told him you wanted to go with him as you handed him the tickets. Still, he was a jerk not to ask you first though. However, I agree with #21 this this seems like a bunch of game playing on your part as well.

The only jerk in this scenario is the OP. She gave a GIFT expecting something in return. If she wanted to go to the show with him, she should have TAKEN him to the show as his present, not given him two tickets and expecting him to take her.

Maybe she should have taken him to the show instead of giving him two tickets, as if she didn't want or couldn't go, and expecting him to ask her.

So instead of TAKING him to the show you also wanted to go see, you gave him two tickets to a show and he chose to take his friend instead of you who, from his POV didn't seem to want to go because if you did want to go YOU WOULD HAVE KEPT A TICKET AND TAKEN HIM INSTEAD.

i agree. you should have told him you've got 2 tickets to the concert and you're gonna bring him there as a birthday treat. not GIVE him the 2 tickets and let him do whatever he wants with it. OH HEY I FOUND A MILLION BUCKS, WHY DONT I GIVE IT TO MY BF SO HE CAN DUMP ME AND SPEND IT ALL ON HIMSELF.
