Today, I went to a concert with a friend of mine. When his dad came to pick him up, I walked towards the car, expecting a ride. His dad told me he didn't have time to drive me home. I'm his neighbour. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Let's go for a walk
Today, my friend and I were getting picked up by his dad after a carnival. As I put my stuff in the back of the car and shut the door to walk around to get in the other side, his dad drove off, thinking I was in the car, leaving me to walk up their hill. It was midnight and I ended up lost. FML
Today, my dad refused to pick me up because he didn't want to get off the couch, so I had to walk for an hour and a half to get home. When I finally got home, my dad had gone out to pick my sister up from her friend's house. Her friend lives a 3-minute walk away. FML
It's only rock n roll
Today, I bought my boyfriend two concert tickets (of our favorite band) for his birthday. I was expecting him to bring me since I gave them to him and I like the band too. He said, "Sweet, thanks, I'll call my friend now and see if he wants to go. Think you could give us a ride?" FML
Helicopter parents
Today, instead of having my friends come pick me up, my dad drove me over to visit them. He insisted on walking me up to the door, hugging me goodbye, and making sure my friends were appropriate enough to hang out with. I'm in college. FML
Not a prank, bro!
Today, I went for a run when my shin splints acted up, so I called my dad to have him come pick me up. When I saw his car approaching, I stuck out my thumb like a hitchhiker, as a joke. The car pulled over to give me a ride. It wasn't my dad. FML
Drunk level: 2000
Today, I had to pick up my dad because he was too drunk to drive home. Drive his wheelchair home, that is. FML
Today, I spent hundreds of pounds buying my best friend concert tickets to see our favourite band, complete with a meet and greet. I drove over very excited to pick her up to take her. She had already left. With her boyfriend. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were driving around town in his car. To my surprise he took me out to lunch. As we were leaving, a girl walks up and asks if he had room for one more for a ride, sadly he only has two seats in his car. Guess who had to walk! FML
Today, my dad came to pick me up. It would have been nicer if he'd had his clothes on. FML
Crossed wires
Today, as a good friend, I went to pick up my buddy from the airport. I arrived at the wrong terminal and waited for an hour before realizing he had landed an hour earlier at the other terminal. By the time I found his whereabouts, he'd already taken an Uber home. FML

you all realize the neighbor could be on a different route then home right? what if he had to visit his sick grandmother at the nursing home? or the local prison. depending on how badass the grandma is

@166 uh no. you dont "expect" people to do things for you without either asking or confirming beforehand. clearly they had things to do, or wanted to discuss something important that was none of this douchebags business. YDI for expecting people to do things for you, and not speaking with them about it. or YDI for having discussed it beforehand and not giving us this crucial piece of information.

neighbor* anyone catch that? neighbor... lol

@181 no we all figured it was obvious that it was spelt correctly and didnt see the need to point it out for you.

ever thought maybe they weren't going home?
goshpeople 4
And if they were going somewhere else, you can't assume they'd want you to tag along just so you could get a ride home at the end of the night. Strip club, maybe?
lizh_fml 9
They should have told them at least because if they went together I would assume OP's parents or the friends parents drove them. If it was OP's parents then it would be very rude not to notify the OP they were not going to reciprocate.

gravy_jones 0
on the contrary I think it's rude to expect a ride perhaps you should of asked before hand to make sure you didn't look like a total ass
HU4L188 0
well if he went to the concert WITH his friend then the friend should be providing the ride
