Hey good lookin'
Today, I realized that whether it takes me 3 minutes or 3 hours to get ready, my husband always has the same reaction, “Uh… yeah babe, you look fine.” Thanks for the confidence boost babe. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was excited that my new skin care regimen seemed to be paying off. I told my husband of 35 years about it and asked him if I "looked good". He looked me over as if I were a stalled engine and said, "You look less stressed. That's good, but I mean… You still look like yourself." FML
Today, my boyfriend gushed for several minutes about how amazing it is that I suddenly look hot when he takes his glasses off. FML
Today, I was in the car with my husband complaining about the way I look. His response, "Babe, if I cared about the way you looked I wouldnt have married you." FML
Today, I was talking to my boyfriend, feeling pretty low. I said something along the lines of, "You like me even when I look like shit." He replied, "Ah, that's just how you naturally look." FML
Today, my boyfriend told me I'm beautiful. Before I could thank him, he continued, "Too bad it takes a shit-load of makeup." FML
Today, I asked my boyfriend if I looked alright for our date. He said, "Honey, you look fine, just don't go out in public like that." FML
Today, after asking my boyfriend multiple times to be more kind and romantic, he looked at me lovingly and said, "You know, you look pretty sometimes." FML
Today, my boyfriend was talking with his friends about how long girls take to get ready (hair, make-up, etc.). I said, "I never spend a long time getting ready." He then looked at me and said, "Maybe you should." FML
Today, a guy was telling me how his girlfriend considers me a "perfect beauty." Not used to getting this sort of compliment every day, I felt extremely flattered… until he started explaining in great detail why he couldn't disagree with her more. FML
Today, I realized that my gay male friend tells me I’m pretty, gives me random compliments, and shows me off more often than my husband of 10 years. I legitimately can’t remember the last time my husband called me beautiful. Even if I ask him how I look, the best I’ll get is “You look fine.” FML

Uh, that's because you already look fine. Your husband obviously is one of us who thinks that the endless beauty routine is vastly overrated and less is more. I'm thankful every day that my wife looks great without all that stuff, and she's still rocking her bare face decades later. She gets disapproving looks from women half her age for not conforming to their ridiculous standards but that's their problem, not ours.

Agreed. Many times just taking a shower is good enough for me on a daily basis. I love my wife, but she worries too much about this stuff and she looks great just waking up in the morning. I’m not a big fan of inconveniencing yourself overly due to stupid opinions that don’t matter. If it makes you happy, great! As long as it does. Don’t do it for others that puts you out and adds extra stress and pressure and making it a chore.

As a single person at this moment, this is why I don’t get jealous of people in a relationship. The grass isn’t always greener (wouldn’t accept someone that doesn’t fancy me either)
