Hello?
Today, at work, my phone rang. My intern answered it and told me it was a coworker who'd just left. I picked up and said "What's up bitch? What are you going to complain about now?!" It was actually my boss. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my co-worker handed me the phone and said it was my boyfriend calling, so I answered "Hello, Love!" It was my boss. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me, telling me that I can't answer the phone anymore. Not because I do a bad job, but because a co-worker whined about it being her job. People call her and complain about how rude she is and then ask to talk to me. FML
Today, my boss phoned me and asked me why I wasn't at work. I was in the staff room. I'd said hello to her as I came in the door. FML
Today, while out to lunch, my sister called me and asked me to pick her up from the mall. I told her she'd have to wait. She got pissed off and started cursing at me, so I hung up on her. She called me back 37 times until I answered and yelled "WILL YOU LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE?" It was my boss. FML
Today, at work while everyone else was at lunch, my boss's sister-in-law called. Realizing I was manning the phones alone, she immediately asked, "Oh, is everyone of importance gone to lunch?" FML
Today, while sitting at a table in a coffee shop, I overheard someone on the next table talking about their horrible boss. I joined in, complaining about mine, and going into great detail about what an arsehole he can be. Turns out, I was talking to my boss's sister. FML
Today, while sitting on the toilet, my phone pocket dialed my boss's cell. He was in the next stall. He answered. FML
Today, my boss rang me for the 5th time on my day off. Frustrated I pushed 'ignore' and yelled a string of obscenities at my phone. Turns out I pushed 'talk'. FML
Today, I went to deliver some reports to my boss in his office. He was facing away from me and ranting about his "useless employees", so I slipped in and waited for him to put the phone down. Turns out he was talking to himself. When he noticed me, he bitched me out and threatened to fire me. FML
Today, after years of listening to my coworker complaining about everything in her life, including her job, I finally stood up to her and bitched at her for complaining and not doing anything about it. She went to my boss, and now it's in my job description to listen to her when she complains. FML

You kiss your mother with that mouth? Yea... I bet you do.. you dirty bugger. Anyway, friend or not thats no way to answer a phone at work. Regardless of who is on the other end of the line you could still have someone listening in on the call without you knowing.

The intern deserves your foot up his ass, your fist in his face, and a pink slip. Asshole.

If they were a thoroughly trained, knowledgeable employee, they wouldn't still be an intern. You shouldn't speak to your coworkers in that manner in any situation, but especially not while you're at work and haven't even bothered to verify that it's actually who you think it is.

#24 I was just about to write something similar of what you wrote. I hope OP got fired for doing something so stupid.

I completely agree with Doc. In my line of work, stitching someone up is a lot bigger deal than making a mistake. I'd fire the intern.

Why take it out on the intern? The OP is the one that screwed up.

oh hell no !! you need to slap that intern in the damn face ! ; ). but seriously, you should have just told your boss sorry and that you thought it was another coworker that you joke around with. maybe that could have gotten you off the hook. I have to say IMO fyl, but at the same time y kinda di. Lou

YDI for believing an intern who is prolly after your job. it could have been your mom for all you know. and, and, I'm going with Doc on this one.

YDI 100%. I'm tired of people like that at work. At my job, wanting to leave on time is being a cry-baby. If you can't stay any longer because I actually have a life outside of work, they bitch at you about it and complain about you to everyone at work

that sucks dude

It doesn't matter who the intern said it was, you're at work. This means you act like a normal person would, and not immediately start swearing at people on the phone. YDI dumbass.

That's completely your fault. Shame.
