Today, my dad took my son out of his will, so I confronted him. Turns out he has a new policy of “not rewarding dumb behaviour.” He’s willing to put him back in the will, if he ever scores over 120 on an IQ test. I love my son, but he’s a happy goldfish, 120 is just never happening. FML

Fall

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.

Technically, It’s your Dad’s money/inheritance and not yours or his grandson’s. He can do as he chooses with what is his. … Never count on an inheritance. It may never come and there is a whole lot of time between now and then that you have to live through. … All that having been said, Dad was pretty harsh about the IQ thing - It is something that is very difficult to change. You can be educated or trained but that IQ won’t move much. … When you can talk calmly with Dad, I suggest you try to find out what is really at the bottom of this. Did your son do something stupid and careless or something that affected Dad? That’s not mostly IQ, that’s behavior and it can be improved.
