Gratitude walks
Today, I generously paid for my best friend to go to an event she's wanted to see her whole life. Instead of thanking me, she brought her children and made me pay for them too, complained that I hadn't chosen the seats she wanted, then blamed me when she got on the wrong train back to her hotel. It sounds like either you best friend isn’t that good of a friend or is sadly lacking in the social graces… Once burned by an ungrateful “friend” simply never do that or anything like that again with this “friend”… You can either accept that your friend is lacking in the gratitude and social graces or question just how much they think of you as a “friend” as opposed to a source of free stuff… You will need to figure that out. When “friend” is less frazzled, you should tell them that the tickets, etc. were expensive and you were disappointed with her apparent lack of gratitude. If she just blows it off or becomes defensive then she’s not a friend or at least not a close one. In that case you need to make better friends. And don’t try to buy them by doing too much for them if they don’t reciprocate. Nobody respects a person that they regularly take advantage of. All healthy relationships involve give and take. When it’s only take, take, and complain that’s not a friendship.

NOT your best friend. she is a narcissistic user. she should have graciously thanked you for her one ticket. you don't need her for validation. straighten your spine and cut contact before she expects you to take out a loan for Christmas presents.

Well, if you didn't **** up so much, she might be grateful. Pay attention -- get it right!

And just how, do tell, did she "make" you buy her kids tickets? YDI
