Today, my dad was pissed and more concerned about his tomato plant being broken than the fact that I'd just tripped over it and hurt my knee. According to him, “It’s the best tomato plant we have.” Thanks for the concern dad. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my dad ran over my foot with his work truck. FML
Today, my dad asked me to move a potted plant from one side of the yard to the other. It looked like a very heavy pot, so I heaved it up with all my might. Turns out it was one of those heavy-looking ones that are actually light plastic. I fell over backwards and dumped dirt into my mouth. FML
Today, I leaned back and bumped into one of my mom's plants in the window. The good thing was that I caught it before it fell and shattered. The bad thing was that my mom likes to keep cactii in the window. I can still feel thorns I haven't managed to pluck out yet. FML
Today, two days after leaving hospital with a broken left leg, I tripped and fell heavily on the floor. My dad quickly asked if I'd broken my other leg. When I reassured him that I hadn't, he disappointedly muttered that it would've been a hilarious story to tell his friends at work. FML
Today, I learned how it feels like when you fall off a second floor balcony with mom's flower pot, landing on your back. My mom got pissed because of her beloved flowers, and gave me a lecture while I rolled on the ground in pain. FML
Today, my father tripped over the dog and hit a wall. He was so convinced his arm was broken that we waited for 3 hours in emergency to find out he had a bruise. FML
Today, my dad uttered the dreaded words, “Now don’t worry boy, I knows exactly what I is doing.” A few short minutes later he has a destroyed impact drill, my ladder is snapped, my kitchen window is broken, my wife is in hospital for stitches, and we can’t find the cat. FML
Today, I tripped over a ice block frozen to the ground and hit my knee hard on another. I had trouble getting up, so I asked my dad if he could give me a hand. He started clapping and walked away. FML

Today, my old neighbor pelted me with apples when I walked out the door. I ducked for cover and asked what her problem was. She yelled, "You took fresh peas from my garden!" I looked at her garden, only to see my dad tiptoeing back to our lawn, laughing and holding a bag full of peas. FML

Accidents happen to the best of us. Yes it's a shame the tomato plant was broken but a new one can be grown. OP watches more carefully where they are going, Dad plants a new tomato plant, life goes on. If Dad presses the issue, OP can offer to pay for supplies for the new crop.

A good tomato plant is a good tomato plant.

Ironically, your avatar is appropriate to this post. From a certain angle it looks like a pair of ripe tomatoes.

You do have two eyes? .. why did you not look where you going, why did you trip?. I'd be bloody annoyed too. Trip on your own terms. Also tomatoes are expensive, I'd die for a good plant. I would have locked you out or sent you to farm life. You deserve it. You didn't look where you stepped, you didn't make sure your path was clear, you destroyed somebody else property and then you felt entitled to be a priority over a hobbies because of knee. Is you knew borken? Just bruised. You know how long tomato plants grow, the best ones. You would have to kill a whole leg and maybe snap a tooth.
