Today, I mentioned on Facebook that I'll be out of town over the weekend, because I am attending my grandmother's funeral. I soon got comments saying "Pics or it didn't happen" and "Killed her for the inheritance, eh?" followed by a solitary "LOLLL". FML

Today, I saw selfies of my aunt and her friends on Facebook having a great time. They took the pictures at my mother's funeral last week. FML
Today, I decided it would be pretty amusing to press the "Like" button on everyone's status on Facebook without reading them just to get on peoples' nerves. After re-reading them later, I found out one of them said "I MISS YOU SOO MUCH GRANDMOM. RIP". I liked that her grandmother died. FML
Today, my grandmother died. No one called me to let me know she passed. I found out because people kept writing RIP on her Facebook wall. My siblings and I weren't even mentioned in her obituary with the other grandchildren, but they did remember to mention her dog. FML
Today, at my grandmother's funeral there was a fight about inheritance. It was my teenage daughters arguing about what they get when I die. FML
Today, I found out my grandfather died via Facebook, because apparently both my father and my aunt think posting a status about it immediately rather than calling family is the thing to do. FML
Today, I had to send a picture of my Grandma at her funeral to my girlfriend, because she thought I was out cheating on her. FML
Today, I told my grandmother I was planning a trip to take my newborn son to meet his great-great-grandfather before it was too late. She had a guilty expression on her face. My great-grandfather died 4 months ago and my family forgot to tell me. FML
Today, while at my aunt's funeral, my grandma who has terrible memory loss asked me whose funeral we were at. I had to explain to her that her daughter had died. FML
Today, my grandma commented on my Facebook profile picture: "That's a great photo! It doesn't look anything like you!" FML
Today, I called off work saying my Great Grandmother died. A co-worker texted me later asking where and when the funeral was. I made up a lie and said some random funeral home and date. My co-workers sent flowers to the funeral home for condolences. The flowers were returned. FML

Well this might get buried and I understand how OP must feel right now. If anything they are just jokes made WAY to soon I don't think people genuinely are being this cruel, if they are well.... This is the Internet and its tough to get around trolls sometimes even in FB

I mean, I know it's the Internet and all- but sometimes people have just an awful, horrible, terrible, bad, sense of humor. I'm the kind of guy that goes to a funeral and accidentally thinks of something incredibly humorous... Then I laugh so hard I wheeze and act as if I'm dying, only to spring up after everyone is going nuts. That's only on April Fool's, though.

I like facebook for keeping in touch with family and just close friends. Most people add random strangers to their facebook and thus get these types of responses. Thats why i said this post isnt very surprising. :)

Sorry for your loss OP. My best friends grandfather had died the other day and I'm going to his funeral tomorrow. They're all like my other family and they all consider me as their daughter/granddaughter/sister. :( Ignore your insensitive 'friends' and delete those people that have made those comments. I have you and your family in my prayers.
