Today, my parents threw a hissy fit calling me ungrateful and disrespectful for wanting to do laundry and clean at home, instead of going out to their friends' house for dinner. They also disconnected the Internet to punish me when they left. I'm 20 and visiting home on a college break. FML

Today, my parents threatened to take away my college funds. Why? Because I complained about my 10 pm curfew during break as a freshman in college. FML
Today, my whole family called me ungrateful and my parents are threatening to ground me because I turned down an invitation to go with my extended family to Hawaii for spring break. I literally just started a new part-time job, but they won't listen. FML
Today, my parents came home after being out of town for the weekend. I stayed home, did homework and completely cleaned the house, thinking I could earn some brownie points with them. They saw how clean the house was and accused me of covering up a party. FML
Today, my parents yelled at me for coming home at 1am this morning from a friend's birthday party. I'm 30 years old. FML
Today, despite the fact that I'm 20 years-old, my parents never allow me to go out and have fun with my friends, under the pretext that I'm a girl. I'm stuck at house all year long, I only go out to the college they forced me to study at, and they decide everything about me. I’m tired. FML
Today, my parents yelled at me for 10 minutes without letting me get a word in edgeways for getting a 48 on my test. They took my phone, unplugged my internet, and took my car keys. They wouldn't listen no matter how many times I told them, "It was out of 50". It actually was. FML
Today, I went over to confront my parents about how my siblings always get to visit and all I do when I’m over is work on their house or take care of grandma. My mom was very upset. Then she snuck out with my sister, leaving me to take care of grandma until she got back. FML
Today, while my parents were grocery shopping, I cleaned the kitchen, swept floors, did laundry, and cleaned bathrooms, only to finish right before they got home. After dinner, my dad bitched and complained that I didn't take out the trash and he had no room to throw away his paper plate. FML
Today, my dad yelled at me for being irresponsible while he watched me fold his laundry. FML
Today, my mom scolded me and threatened to ground me for coming home past midnight. Normally, it wouldn't be unreasonable, except for the fact that I'm 24 years-old, and that my parents live with me, in my own house. FML

Could be worse. I'm 21 live at home still but work 50 hours a week while going to school full time. Both my parents are unemployed and sit on their asses playing their laptops while screaming at me to clean when I need sleep.

i think #3 is just being sarcastic, but i cant tell. if they were trying to impose a rule within the house then yes, they have that right. but dragging someone into a differnt house that the op didnt want to be isnt warranted, i mean unless they just didnt want op in the house unsupervised, but then they would just have to kick you out. but you cant force someone to travel with you

I think the issue is that they haven't seen you in a few months at least, and when you actually did come to visit them, you want to stay home and not spend time with them, even if it is at a friend's house. Trust me, my parents are the same. Entertain the idea at least for a bit. Theres always time to do laundry in college, not free, but still haha.

I agrede with you #8. I don't think their parents got mad because OP wants to help, but because they want to spend time as a family with their friends. I would do it, is not a big deal if it's not too often.
