Today, after returning to the UK from my Australian holiday, I was fired from my job for no reason. My boss told me he'd waited till I'd returned to do it. I could have stayed in Australia with my mates traveling for a year if I had been fired before I left. I'm sure he did it on purpose. FML

Today, while on vacation, I got fired for not working a shift I wasn't scheduled for. Even after texting my boss a copy of my vacation approval letter, she still fired me. FML
Today, I was enjoying my first vacation day in 2 years. My boss then called me to come in, saying it was an emergency. I got to work and got fired. Yes, my boss made me come in just to fire me. FML
Today, I returned to work after taking two days off to find I'd been fired. Why? For not being at work on those two days. Everything was agreed in writing, all trace of which has mysteriously vanished. I can't work until HR sorts it out, and nobody can tell me how long that'll take. FML
Today, while on holiday. I got a call to let me know my job will be gone away when I return. FML
Today, I was fired from a job I didn't have. The manager in charge of calling me to tell me if I got the job never called, and never called me back when I left messages. The only time he called me was to fire me for not coming to orientation, which, by the way, he never called to tell me about. FML
Today, after getting a new remote job and traveling to the Bahamas while working remote, without asking my employer, because I figured they wouldn't find out and I didn't want them to say no. IT ended up tracking my computer and telling HR I was overseas and I got fired after I returned from my trip. FML
Today, my boss called me into his office. After yelling and firing me, his assistant comes in telling him he had mistaken me for someone else. He did not give me my job back, as he claimed it would make an awkward work environment. FML
Today, my boss called me and asked why I haven't been showing up to work. I didn't show up because he fired me last week over the phone. Then he fired me again for not showing up to work. FML
Today, my boss found out I had applied for a much better paying job. He told me I'd do a better job and make more money there. Then he fired me. FML
Today, I worked my job then went home to enjoy my weekend. An hour later, I was called and told I was fired, without any reason given. I can’t even empty my locker, as they'd said they would mail my things to me. FML

I'm sorry, its unfortunate that you got fired, but something doesn't match up here. It sounds like your one of those people who expect the world on a silver platter for no other reason than because you're you. You may not even realize it, but that's just how you sound. I doubt your boss is out to just spite you and end your wonderful vacation for no good reason.

Oh, there was a reason. He wanted you to deal with the bleak, dark English winter rather than traipsing about in the glorious, Australian summer. Something tells me you got fired for more than slightly-less-than-mediocre performance. And don't you people say sacked anyways?

In the UK, unless you are either in a trial period or on a temporary contract, the employer needs to give you a verbal warning followed by two written warnings prior to firing you. Based on this either you have messed up a few times in the past and were on borrowed time anyway, were not employed on a permanent basis with them, or your boss has screwed you over and its time for an unfair dismissal case.
